The reason it’s like this is because, if you want a choice, you MUST have a *choice above it. However you can’t have a bunch of *choice’s all over the same scene, so you would want it at the bottom (as above).
You’re also going to run into an issue if you just have it as-
*stat_chart
percent Cassius
As it’s just going to show you- 50%
I mentioned above but, you need to add a second word after it to show who it is- so if you put
*stat_chart
percent Cassius Cassius
It would show as
Cassius: 50%
(to give a better idea of what I mean-
*stat_chart
percent cassius_relationship Cassius
would show as
Cassius: 50%
When testing, I go into stats, and get a message telling me something is wrong. Specifically with line 29, which is *choice. It says no selectable options, no matter how I try to format it.
Also, one thing about that particular error is basically it’s just telling you- there’s no way to show any of the choices. One way to get around it is to have a choice that’s not hidden behind an *if
Ah, I understand. I toyed around a little, and I think I got it to work now? I guess? I’m afraid if I were to upload it for testing, and people immediately went into their stats, that they would get an error code because certain characters haven’t been met yet…
I can, yeah, in CSIDE. I just meant if I were to upload it so others could try it while it was in the works, they could get an error. What methods are there…? I’m not sure how to describe mine
No, CSIDE is good. Some others write it in something like Notepad++ and have to finagle a way to test/play it. CSide is much easier.
And that tends to be the expectation when playing a WIP. A lot of people here are pretty good at running through it and letting you know what errors they hit, how and where.
Oh! I write in Notepad++ because, honestly, I hate how the text looks in CSIDE so much. I don’t know why, but I hate it enough that I won’t work in it besides to test.
Truth be told…I started learning the script because I was curious, and thought it’d be fun (which it is…when I’m not pulling on my hair orz). And I was inspired by a lot of writers here, seeing how they can connect with people, some even manage to have a fanbase built for their stories. While I was fooling around, I somehow decided to write something people can enjoy because, frankly, the world is too depressing and the more escapism, the better.
Have you tried changing up the way the text looks in Cside? It doesn’t have a bunch of options but you can do some minor things that might look a bit better for you. Either way, if it works, it works.
And I get what you mean- There’s still a lot that I have to learn but I like learning it, and I love being able to put something out there that I created, for others to enjoy, too.
I’ve already made the scripting tedious and harder than it already is, so I figure I’ll stick with the routine I’ve set up
putting out my own work is terrifying, even just fanfiction.
I’ve been using RETowers’ tutorial, even bookmarked it, although sometimes it confused me. Dunno why.
Was your nap good tho-? That’s the all important question.
