I wondered how people are going about making their games? how much do you plan out and such? give any details or tips =]
I wasn’t planning much before starting the work on the game. I thought that having a skeleton story and designing the plot chapter by chapter on the fly was easier than planning. It wasn’t. A few days ago, I discovered it’s one of the causes of my writer’s block.
Now, I am planning out a lot - describing what’s happening in each scene and why, describing every choice and its consequences, what items the player gains/loses, what stats are changed etc.
It’s going well so far and right now I am working on the third chapter.
