Deadline for current update: Complete Stillwater one night stand(explicit stuff included): 18th of October
Deadline for the rest in this segment: Mouse and Carrington late October.
Alright, last post before I’m back on Sunday(or Monday post-wise).
It’s more of an obligation than a fun kind of trip, but I’ll try my best.

Friday here we come! (always a chance I won’t make it since I do have other duties too, but it’d be very convenient if I had it all set up ready for Friday )

Mostly done with my other pressing duties, should have enough time to do the testing and final few changes for Friday.

Seems mostly fine, but I may have underestimated the time needed for the final stuff, as usual. Might be Saturday instead of Friday, but I’ll do my best since I’d prefer it was Friday. Will know for sure tomorrow.

Deadline for the rest in this segment: Mouse and Carrington early November.
As annoying as it is, I’ll have to set the deadline forward by a week.
This isn’t the same as the last half year when I’ve been absurdly optimistic in the way of “I can totally get it done in a few days, no problem”. This is literally the final part of the update. The other minor parts I had to do are done now, but one of them is way more work than I thought possible, but it’s also critical for the update, so I can’t ignore it(calling it minor at this point isn’t exactly true, in retrospect).
Since I don’t think I’ll get it done by Saturday, and I don’t want a release on Sunday either(not that it’s a guarantee it’s done then either!), it’ll have to be next Friday(since I want the free time I have on the weekend to fix stuff if necessary). That way I don’t need to rush the testing either or anything, and at this point rushing anything is a no-go.
Really hate doing this, but it is what it is. It’s almost comical how bad I am at estimating how much time or work something takes.

Yeah, no way I could’ve gotten it done this weekend.

Almost done with the final part, then only testing. Honestly, can’t believe even that took so long. Practically it was(well, is for a moment longer) re-editing some stuff to be more sensible. The sort of thing that’s “I’ll just change some words or sentences in a bunch of places”. Doesn’t sound like a lot of work, but in essence I had to re-write pretty much all of those things than just edit the words to different ones, since the context demanded it almost always.
Anyway, Friday.

Finished with the final part. Won’t have too much time during the week, but it should be ample since it’s just testing(and fixing if something’s wrong. No adding anything anymore ).
I might set the release for Saturday when I’m awake, rather than on Friday before I go to sleep, since that way I’m ready to fix stuff as soon as it turns up, rather than there being an 8 hour period of no fixing when I’m sleeping. I would say that since I’ll have tested it there shouldn’t be a need to fix anything, but prior experience has shown there’s always something I’ve missed.

Again, no larger problems with testing, but there’s always some minor annoyances to fix.
Also, release will be on Saturday some hours after I wake up, since I have other business earlier in the day and I’d rather release when I’m ready to react to potential problems rather than out of my house.

Tomorrow. Although, I will mention that in case my business earlier in the day takes way too long(like, supposing I come back in the evening), I might still make it Sunday.

Now, this is really hard to say, but not today, not tomorrow, but next week.
Due to what I was doing earlier today, I made an impromptu meeting for tomorrow(old friend, haven’t met in a while, was visiting the area where I live, we decided to meet again tomorrow since there’s not too many opportunities).
I understand it’s not great, but I have to prioritize real life things like this over Cyberpolice. I get that it isn’t exactly increasing my trustworthiness, but it is what it is. Given the importance and size of the update, and the equal importance of my meeting tomorrow, I’m willing to take the hit. It’s been seven months since the last update. A week can’t be the breaking point.
The good part is that I’ll be working on the Mouse&Carrington stuff next week in any case, so there’s no real time lost as such. (and I still want to have lots of time to react on the day I release it, so no release during the week)
Still, I understand it can be very frustrating. My apologies.
Real life should always come first, you don’t have to apologize for that.

Had my impromptu meeting today, and I don’t regret what I did. I won’t say I’m “glad” I did it since that’s a bit too much, but it was the right choice in retrospect.
I’ll start(continue from a year ago) the work on the Carrington&Mouse stuff tomorrow. Then, on Saturday once I wake up, it’s release time for the Stillwater segment.
Normally I would agree, but given that it’s been 7 months, I hyped the release date up and had to cancel it at the very last moment, I think an apology was needed.
Still, thanks for understanding, everyone. I appreciate it.

Deadline for the rest in this segment: Mouse and Carrington ??? November.
Adequate start to the Carrington&Mouse stuff. Hard to say how long it’ll take. Once the Stillwater update is out, I’ll switch to a more detailed system of update progress(less vague, more specific as to what I’ve done with current word count for update and goal, etc. The idea is that it’ll keep bloat and endless polishing from happening).

Will have to decide how large I’ll actually want the Mouse&Carrington segment to be. Both together I could see a similar word count as the Mari Badr and Stillwater parts. Which means, either separately is only half(or less since they’ll have a combined branch too). Although, perhaps a better approach would be to write them as long as they’re going quickly, and when they start to stagnate I’ll finish them quickly. It’s always the stagnation phase that ruins the flow and the speed of the updates. Still, they can’t be too short either. We’ll see, I suppose.
