Coyote (WIP- 53k words -posted 3/3-2025)

Are you trying to save on the first page? That won’t work.

I really like it so far.
Even if some things I would have said differently in MC shoes. But I am not them. So that’s fine.

Hope we can stay a bit of a wreck for a while.

Found a misspelling of candy bar after choosing to buy it with loose change
You walk on in silence, each of you munching on your half of the cadybar as you head to your improvised home for the night. Soon enough, it comes into view, the abandoned concrete construct that you’ve set up camp in.

Missed an a for that when telling your name to nana
You’re not sure that makes sense, but you nod either way. Nana takes tht as her queue to let you rest, walking with determined steps towards the door.

I liked whats there so far looking forward to more

Thank you, @Starkness, @Axe_Ward, and @Blueeyeddemon, for letting me know about the mistakes. They should all be fixed now. I don’t know why the game won’t save for you, though. I’ve tried it on multiple devices, and it seems to work for me.

I would suggest clearing your cache that might be affecting things.

It’s a great story, I love the characters so much  do we meet Liam again? I miss him :loudly_crying_face: I’m looking forward to more

So bug fix/spelling update? Or content one?

(Can’t see the code so can only ask. As my saves at least are at the beginning again.)

Maybe an Update log in the forum would be an idea.

I loved this so much, I really cannot wait for more

Great start, will be waiting for more

Only bug and spelling updates. I’ll be adding a log when I actually start to add new content.

Fluffy as snow can be on a warm day.

Please continue writing an insight to MC’s emotional state. It’s good to feel, like Wayhaven.

Poly route for Liam/Kody?

Really good start! I loved the writing style and the characters are pretty interesting. It’s also nice seeing the variety of dialogue/reaction options and I’ll certainly try replaying with an MC with a different personality later.

Also, found a small bug:

Summary

I accepted the offer of that person on the side of the road but they said their name was ‘true’ and the game kept referring to them that way, like here:

I chose to set all the ROs to male at the beginning, if that helps.

Good start, big potential

A bit ago was thinking about an older WIP from here where you’re a coyote shifter and how that used to bug me because of my affinity towards wolves (though I still enjoyed it, it heavily hampered my experience at the time, particularly from being so small just due to species in comparison to the wolf in the story), and how due to some adjustments of my wolf affinity I think I would be more okay with it now, with my specific wolf nonsense being kinda coyote (have figured out it’s specifically red wolves that are my thing). Funny that there’s now a story where I can put it to the test  (still kinda bothers me, frankly; there’s a million stupid little insecurities that are the reasons, but it’s not as difficult for me now at least).

Ignoring my stupid bullshit, I do enjoy this a lot. Like how very traumatized we can be about everything and everyone, able to be effectively feral. Also I imagine the contrast of a little forty pound yote shifting into a six foot twelve tank of a girlthing is very jarring and funny.

@MaGran ive continued to enjoy what youve given us so far but i got to thibk about somethibg and so thus i will ask.

An if its something we can learn later on in the story no worries can find out later, but how is it that the hunters no what we are when we are in human form? Yet other humans do not? Exspecially if they are not the same exact hunters. There is probally simple explanation but my brain isnt computing it at the moment lol

Perhaps they are trained to notice distinctly animalistic tendencies/ behaviors that shifters are known to have depending on the animal they shift to.

Maybe but think i think it might be something else lol :grinning:

There’ve not been any mentions of animalistic tendencies or behaviours, though. If we were acting particularly animalistic as the MC, I’m thinking it would have been mentioned by now as part of setting the character.
