Actually there’s an if statement in the source code that only activates this feature on mobile, iirc. I found it by accident one time. It was like suddenly coming up with the solution to a puzzle you had given up a long time ago, then I proceeded to stare at that piece of code in dumbfounded anger. Fixing it, meaning removing it, would be so easy.
