The Bread Must Rise
The Bread Must Rise
Congrats on reaching launch week after two years of hard work! Loved the interview (and @AletheiaKnights getting well-deserved shoutouts!) - I’m looking forward to it, having played an early version on the forum last year.
Who put poison in my cake? Anyway, the blurb is already inviting for me to take a bite out of it- I hope everyone finds this delicious! Enough puns for now. Time to play the kitchen field…
I love the video! Never has a baking montage seemed more ominous.
James and I had a blast writing this thing–we hope you all enjoy playing it and meeting the quirky cast every bit as much.
I must’ve seen the same repeated text what, Four times in eight pages? Something like that.
Edit two pages after initial post: five times in ten pages.
Six times in twelve pages
Didnt we just go out of beta of this one?
I’ve enjoyed all the games I’ve worked on, but this one has a special place in my heart for making me laugh out loud so many times. It’s unapologetically weird, but infused with enough cleverness and surprising warmth to make it both mentally and emotionally compelling.
And I got a shout-out! Oh wow! Thanks, you guys - I’m glad my feedback meant so much to you!
Some of the chapters were sent to copyedit before the beta officially closed, so it had to spend less time in copyedit after closing.
If it’s the prompts to sign, that’s intentional repetition, not an error. If it does seem like an error, write to firstname.lastname@example.org with details about the repeated text and we’ll take a look.
Yeah, the signatures are a running gag that only appear in the first half of the first chapter. I promise there’s nothing else that repetitive elsewhere in the game, and there is actually a reason for the repetition!
Here try my cupcakes just one is to
I appreciate that the screenshot is Knuckles signing something. Really sells it!
Congratulations on the upcoming launch! Having a day off, I think I know what’s going into my Steam library next. I got genuinely excited after reading the first chapter, the whole comedy/baking/eldritch horror/“bad” jokes theme is right up my alley.
Wait…. 450k words on baking…what the in the hells is going on in this game!!! I suppose I really only have one way to find out. Where the !@*! Is my apron!!!
