COGDemos bugs/requests

Also clear cookies as well, not just cache (in case those are separated for the browser you’re using, which they usually on desktop browsers are in my experience).

I also deleted my old saves there, didn’t work, but I might try again.

@LiliArch also suggested clearing cookies of whatever browser you use.

Let me know how it goes.

@Sambit_Mishra I’am blind if you can describe I can try to help.

Is anyone else having CoGDemos throw HTTPS/Server Not Found errors, or is it on my end?

I think it must be on your end. I am able to get to the site without any issue.

You’re getting that on cogdemos.ink? I just checked the code and there’s nothing that even produces that error. That’s… weird. I may need some more info to figure this one out, since nothing on cogdemos (that I can find) even mentions… that word.

Funnily enough, when I just tried to post WA, it gave me an error that I can’t post that word, lol.

So it seems. My VPN refuses to connect to the site without actually blocking it for some reason so I’m just getting a connection-issue-error. Urgh.

Getting this error .

Possibly related - I do tend to get HTTPS errors when it’s actually more a timeout.

getting the same gateway timeout. That was fixed pretty quick, back to playing one of my favorite demos.

hackers I’m guessing?

Attempted, yes. They can’t get in, so they just keep hammering the shit out of it.

Try it now, people. Hopefully, this blocked them. If anyone who should be able to reach it is getting blocked, let me know.

One other thing I noticed (I have got to get back to work, lol)… one game on the page is having a recursion error: pendragon: sword of no names. There’s either something wrong with the code, a missing image, or the game code has hit something that scene.js can’t handle. If anyone knows the author, please pass it along.

Spoke too soon. Someone is hammering favorites, as well as constantly hitting random games. Tried blocking scripts, but can only do so much without breaking the games.

For now, I’m going to disable adding to favorites until I can get these bastards out of my damned site. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Note: Disabling favorites has also affected the images showing on the main page because the code has everything tied together (that needs to be fixed). Until I enable favorites again, the images will be broken. I will try to work on this tonight when I’m done with work.

Might be bots, unless you have heavy-duty protections in place there.

I have a bunch of bots blocked. But they’re still hitting me hard. From multiple IPs. One is in LA. I am blocking it for now.

So a mix of a coordinated bot attack and hacking…. people really don’t have anything better to do than mess with things other people enjoy. Hope things calm down so you can get well deserved relaxation after this.

I’m just wondering if it’s the AI bots, because from what I’ve read (from site admins that suffer from it and are trying to make it stop) they don’t even identify themselves as bots, but they do hit from a huge bunch of different IPs and indiscriminately DDoS everything.

Not saying it can’t be hackers, but it could also just be regular AI botnet activity.
