I need images for my book any suggestions
Or help.
Please refer to this thread for a list of websites which provide free stock images.
PublicDomainPictures.net and rawpixel is another option. (EDIT: Please also double check the license terms of each image before use)
Please do not simply grab images off a Google search as you may not have the legal right to reproduce such images elsewhere.
What do you mean by âfree imagesâ?
If you mean images in the public domain, the answer is yes.
If you mean images that are presented as free to use online, you have to be careful. Some might truly have no restrictions on their use, but some might only be free for non-commercial purposes, which means itâs fine to use unless you want to publish and make money.
Also be aware that some image sites have been allowing AI images for free use (or even purchased as stock images) which are not allowed to be used on HG submissions so make sure to check theyâre not AI flagged (and run them through an AI checker for good measure if you want to be extra careful.)
Wait a minute, youâre real authors! Vance, didnât you write âDragon of Steelehornâ? And Jac Colvin, âWizardry of Level Câ was amazing! Did you guys get your images from the public domain as well?"
In addition to being a real author, Jac Colvin actually did her own art for Wizardry Level C. She is disgustingly multitalented and I would definitely hate her fiercely if she werenât also a super cool human.
Yup. All from the public domain. Check out this cover art I did for someone elseâs project.
Thanks AletheiaKnights and Poetic_Menace Iâm not sure what to say to that
Wizardry did use a free image for the book and then was painted over the top.
You can definitely get nice images straight from the public domain though if you donât want to do too much painting or photomanipulation. The image I used for Oedipus is mostly from wikimedia commons
The domain you provide has great pictures. Thanks
