I’m not really sure if this has been asked before, but is there a way to get the triple-barrel Cerberus shotgun again here? I just recently played the Archangel Job again and saw that you could obtain it near the very end of the first game. It was honestly the coolest most awesome gun ever.

I regret to inform you but,
Breach is not yet complete.
I know I promised to be able to complete Breach 2 by the end of the year, but I was unable to fulfill this promise. For that, I sincerely apologize. I tried my best to complete the game but as I went through writing out, there was a multiple loop holes, coding complications and generally, a lot of difficulty to fulfill small promises I made years ago.
Technically, the Archangel route is practically done coding wise, but the FBI route is very much so left behind in the dust.
I know and realize exactly what the problem was, from feature creep, to me over-promising content, overestimating how much time I have left, all made worse by natural disasters. It hasn’t flooded entirely since last time, but it came close 4 different times since then. And I had to pack up my belongings, unplug everything, bring everything upstairs, and then bring them back down because it was a false alarm.
I’ve paid the price for underestimating the flood already with most of my data being destroyed, and so far, having been on the edge and doing the pack up and unpack dance four times in a row… I am slowly losing my sanity.
My anxiety is through the roof.
But excuses are just that, excuses. I’m still writing Breach, and I have no plans to stop writing.
So, in an effort to hasten the process of completing Breach 2, there’s been a few hard decisions I’ve had to make, and one pleasant decision.
The Independent Route will be cut and reserved for a later update.
It doesn’t mean it will be cut entirely, just that I will have to save it for it’s own post-launch update later on after Breach 2 releases with both the FBI route and the Archangel route.
The latest plan was for the Independent Route to be only available from the FBI route. It was originally supposed to be able to be available from both routes, but after numerous plot holes and coding nightmares, I’ve decided to just make it available for the FBI route.
But even then, it just made things worse writing the FBI route. So much worse, that the Archangel route finished before the FBI route because it was still stuck in Chapter 3 Part 2.
So, I’ve decided to cut the Independent route entirely, and focus heavily on the FBI route and fleshing out and fixing bugs on the Archangel route. This also enables me to write the Independent route the way I originally wanted it to, available from both sides.
So, to everyone who was awaiting to see Breach 2 get finished this year, I sincerely apologize.
For my patrons who were waiting for an update, if you’ve been a patron since around June, the link that you have will still be the same link for the upcoming Archangel route update.
So, just to reiterate, as I’ve said in previous announcements, you do not need to continue supporting me to have access to the update! You only needed to be a patron once to get the link.
In other, more pleasant news. The closed beta testing for Breach 2 is coming, which will include the same contents for patrons.
So, you DO NOT need to be a patron to join the closed beta testing. Application is open to the public, but you will need to have an account on the CoG Forums to be able to participate, because that’s where the thread will be posted.
It is not yet open, so I’m not accepting any applicants yet, but as soon as the Archangel update is out, I will announce the beta testing details.

Honestly, I love and enjoy reading these kinds of posts. They highlight the ups and downs in my writing but also gives me new perspectives on the same old story I’ve read a million times through writing it.
Best gift I can get is seeing my story from someone else’s perspective. Compared to a lot of other authors out there, I’m very new to this.
That being said, there was a similar feedback years ago, and I’ve made similar changes before to the Archangel route early on but they were not well recieved 
So I reverted them back. Most likely I just didn’t execute it well enough and it was better in my head than it did in writing, so it was probably my fault, but I decided to go back to what worked before.
The FBI route and the Archangel route are two very different MCs, but I’ve had people who are capable of enjoying both, and people who enjoy one and not the other. Either way, I will try my best to be consistent, and hopefully learn from my mistakes.
I was not aware of this, but the intention with Raquel is that she is Asexual but not Aromantic. That was the original character’s creator’s request for them.
Unfortunately, I don’t think you can get the Cerberus in Breach 2 yet because save importing is not yet implemented. Sorry.
But in Breach 1, during the warehouse at the docks, meeting the Don, you will have to search the crates for a weapon. You’ll find a guncase if you succeed the check, open it.

I love breach. Afar seems like it was a home dnd game being turned into i.f. it just didn’t resonate the same to me, perhaps cause i don’t understand the world of it.. that being said I’m still willing to try it out…but breach is one of the top i.f’s imo. So after breach 2 I’ll be more anxious for breach 3, but patient lol.

I’m definitely a bit burnt out with Breach, but yes. Afar is in fact a DnD world that has housed numerous campaigns since I was about 12 years old. It’s a pretty old world, and I do intend to rewrite Afar to better suit newcomers as well as to fix a lot of the old writing mistakes I’ve done in the past.
I’ve learned a LOT from Breach 2
It’s the route you take when you do not wish to pick a side between the FBI or the Archangels, or if you want to pick all the sides. You will be primarily on your own, and you choose your own goals. And it is the only route where you can kill all three of the trio. Though that’s probably not gonna be in Breach 2, maybe partially, most likely in Breach 3.
Well, in Breach 3, you practically go global. You’ll be traveling around the world.

I’ve read Breach 2 from both the Archangel and FBI route, and always keep going the FBI route. It’s less that I like one over the other, and more that the Trio are using our Raphael as too much of a disposable weapon, which I ain’t cool with.
Not to mention the fact that they keep leading us on, and we don’t know shit. They know more about us than we do them, and they will happily exploit that.
The FBI does the whole “using us as a weapon” thing as well, but they don’t try and hide it. The Archangels do, and they lose brownie points for that.
Plus, I want to figure out whatever Anthony is doing and if needs be, take him down. He seems too dangerous to want to fight for the “good guys”

Is it the same as becoming a ghost path I heard said before in forum? Or that’s one of the subsequent paths of independent path in later books?

I think Ghost path is in an Archangel route. Whatever this independent route is, you get it from playing the FBI route.

The Ghost path in the Archangel route is an ending for Book 3, it’s not an actual route that you play through. But in the end, you get to become a Ghost and join Ghost Company.
Meanwhile in the Independent route, your character trains to become a Ghost, though you won’t be part of Ghost Company itself. You’ll be an independent Ghost. At the end of the independent route, one of the ending is joining Ghost Company proper.

I’m curious, what is the Enlightened Path, precisely? I know that in the FBI route, you acces it if you figure out Gabriel’s identity, but does that mean that the Enlightened MC automatically set on the Independent route? Enlightened MC = Independent Route??? Or will it be possible to continue the FBI route even with the Enlightened MC (although in that case, wouldn’t it be a whole separate branch of FBI route)?
I also liked the connection between the MC who is Enlightened and literally being called Lucifer. I liked the symbolism.

The enlightened path is any route you do when your character knows who Gabriel’s true identity is. It can be in the FBI route, or the Archangel route. Either way, you have to be “enlightened” to enter the Independent route. It is the only way.
You do NOT have to enter the independent route if you are enlightened. You can finish Breach 2 in the FBI or Archangel route while enlightened.
