Iâll have to do another run to get numbers but I can say that I play my MC as cold and formal to nearly everyone, and only gentle with those whoâve shown her particular kindness. Even with her mother she was chill and formal, because how her mother treated her didnât match up to how she treated and spoke of everyone else around them. It made her feel unstable, I would imagine, and as if she could also become one of those her motherâs machinations would affect. So far, the only two to earn seeing her âgentleâ side (itâs not very) are Hayden from when they were kids and Fiona, and she beheaded Fion (again, because she didnât trust her father to just do it without making it some kind of spectacle of cruelty.)

there was an option to shove the royal at the wall twice. Even verbal promise of the bodily harm couldâve been perceived treasonous, especially from the house that is openly hostile against the crown.
Hayden is a prince, and other than him flushing at MC during introduction when they were kids, thereâs little information on their interaction. But instead at the rooftop scene weâre suddenly met with a character from 13 Reasons Why, who acts like weâve been bffs to a point of brushing off being manhandled.
I havenât read the prior discussions, so my impressions came right after reading the book.
And given the information that can be glimpsed from it, it felt rather confusing to see a prince being chastised for sleeping around. It wouldâve been understandable, if the setting required strict adherence to top/bottom power dynamics, and the prince being humiliated for spreading his legs, and thus invalidating his station. But we are led to believe that same sex relations are accepted, so thatâs clearly not an issue.
Hayden is a crown prince, and a dude. He doesnât birth children, so his virginity is nowhere near an issue if he had been a lady.
It wouldâve been nice, if the reader is made to understand, how can one bedfellow tarnish a sovereign.
They would probably call it a battle fright, or hysteria (the latter was actually used, although in a much broader sense). Panic attack is such a recent concept that it feels âout of timeâ for the setting. Unless itâs an isekai?
While my comments may feel like stepping on the toes of your artistic vision, especially when the tenets of your AU are just being established - the intention is an inquiry to better understand the world described.
Ultimately, itâs your world. And itâs your word.

I think the issue here is that you donât know as much as the other readers, and thatâs not your fault, of course, because I answer a lot of things and even give spoilers on tumblr, as well as this wip is a rewrite. But what you said caught my attention on one issue and thatâs something I will fix: The question of the timeline and events, things that can confuse the reader, and even though I already plan to change things so that it is developed in a way that doesnât have flashbacks, but rather a continuous timeline to not confuse. Apparently this confused you, and if it did, it will certainly confuse other new readers.
To answer the questions, and donât worry, I didnât look at your questions with bad eyes or anything like that. I know youâre just trying to understand and having doubts.
The first question about Hayden: It turns out there are exactly two years of the MCâs life that involve interactions with Hayden that have not been shown yet, and in those years that have not been shown, the MC studied at the Petrus academy (the kingdom in which Hayden will be the leader), and in that they got closer and interacted, although this closeness and interactions will depend a lot on the reader/MCâs choices, it will also show some things about Hayden in relation to the MC and others around them. This will be explored further (although again, I have already talked to other readers about simply not skipping the years and making the scenes be moved around so that there are no back and forth in the past and future. Because I had already imagined that it would end up hindering the development and things) with new flashbacks.
Basically, I will release another version of the demo without temporary skips. But for now, I intend to continue like this, with flashbacks, but I will change it after finishing Chapter 1, to avoid confusion.
And secondly: Hayden didnât say anything about what the MC said. And of course, pushing him against the wall depends on the MC/reader, itâs a choice. And it wasnât necessarily seen by more people, although Hayden could complain about it, they didnât.
And about this, the spoilers involving Hayden, are a few answers above. but to answer you properly, you got something right. which is that a bedfellow does indeed stain a lord, but in a different way in this case

Hayden slept with a foreigner, and more precisely a bastard, who although legitimized, is still very frowned upon in the eyes of Petrus. Hence the scandal (explained more here:) And also hinted that he slept with others (in most peopleâs view, Hayden would have slept with prostitutes and more) which also made him get a certain bad reputation, since Hayden is the heir. (Bastards are not well-liked in Petrus) To make matters worse, Hayden was promised to a person, the king made an arranged marriage that Hayden didnât want at all. And yes, this caused a serious problem in Haydenâs reputation, which will be tarnished for a while, although eventually it will pass. The arranged marriage was annulled, and the king was definitely not happy.

And no, itâs not an isekai. Itâs more like high fantasy, with some modern elements (like the panic attack issue, clothes, and so on) but not too many. I plan to later bring a blog with information about various elements and stories of the world, information with and without spoilers. And Iâm already working on that, so I believe that you and other readers will appreciate that to better understand other things as well. Personally, Hayden and my MC at least are more casual and honest with each other when alone. They share a solidarity of hating their fathers and finding their BS stupid. At least thatâs my head cannon so far based on their interactions. Lol. So manhandling each other is something I can see them doing when alone from judging eyes.
In the first demo, I enjoyed how Hayden and my MC had this sort of playful, competitive rivalry disguising a deeper care for and attraction between them. So Iâm glad to see Hayden still joking and poking at my MC, who pretends to hate it but actually doesnât. Lol.
An outsider would mistake them for fighting. Or my MC for threatening Hayden when he pushed him into the wall. But, itâs cause he cares for Hayden and is mad at him for taking a risk like that. The sexual tensionâŚcould be cut with a knife. Lol. Private moments like that, MC drops his stoic mask and shows his inner caring and protective side.
Now, if Hayden goes and messes with those mermaids, my MC willâŚlovinglyâŚkick his arse.

Yeah, I am still trying to flirt with Hayden. I didnât push her against the wall, and I chose not to hang out with a crew. Part of that is metagamie. If I go with the crew then I hear about it. If I donât, then I wonât. I just donât like braggers. Hayden could have 100s as long as not bragging at me about it. It turns me completely away.
So I have meta with avoiding a hang out. I also donât shove her against the wall. Iâm not the aggressive type. That moment is missing something for the non-aggressive type MCs on flirting? I did see the unconfident choice or shy option in that scene at one point.
I do like Eris. Pronouns with Eris involved is all over the place.

Can not all be a ruse, even with the foreigner? The Kingâs word have no value, Mages can be bought or threatened by the King. As long that the rumors are strong, the job is done.

Even though I love your story as is, Iâm glad you are planning to minimize flashbacks and going for a straight timeline. I think it will make the story stronger and the drama better.
In particular the scene when you find Hayden in the ruined castle. Itâs the first opportunity to make actual RO choices (at least ones with marked hearts in the choice) but I donât have enough info to make the right choice for my MC. With Tyler itâs bland, and you donât know about your shared past. With Hayden, it gets closer, but I already have a sense in this scene (and the one where MC can be upset about the rumors) that we have a romantic⌠history?⌠understanding? Pledges of naive young love? IDK but something, and I want my MC to be hurt and angry (young love lol) in this scene, it has so much potential to be a huge moment but falls a bit flat given the choices and our lack of the complete history between us.
I really like your story and see so much potential, really looking forward for more!

I think the aggressive wall shove though is what Hayden wants. Heâs trying to get attention with his antics. So MC getting mad enough to pin him and threaten in a weird way tells him that MC cares? Probably why he likes trying to antagonize us. Typical angsty teen. 
As for romantic history⌠L.D.Nunes said about Hayden that he/she has a crush on MC since childhood. But doesnât know if MC feels similar. Plus their dads despise each other. So itâs kinda unsaid at this point in time? Whether one-sided, or two idiot teens. MC and Hayden are only 16 and I doubt either fathers make good go-tos for romantic advice.

Well my Hayden is a male so he screwing many maidens probably bad for him like seriously he will make many powerful enemies, but regardless of what gender Hayden is I think this rebellious phase of random one night stand will bite back later.

I just finished the new Demo and I have to askâŚ.
Is the old Demo job longer going to be worked on? I see that it has been changed to private and can no longer be accessed.
I really loved the old Demo, (it was the first ever WIP I have ever played on the website), and I would be a little heartbroken if it has been abandoned for the newer Demo.
I guess Iâm curious if weâll see the work from the old Demo be put into the New Demo. I just think it would be a waste for the author to scrap all of their previous work instead of combining the two Demos in one.
In the end, itâs all up to the author and I wonât complain, (Iâm not entitled ). Iâm just excited and thankful that the project is still going strong!
Anyways, if anyone can answer these questions I would be really grateful!
- Is the old Demo completely abandoned and unusable?
- Will the two Demos ever be joined at some point?

Yes to the first, and a little bit of âyes and noâ for the second.
The original demo was the first draft; this current one is a rewrite, but even it will see revisions soon based on what L.D.nunes has said only a few posts up. Content from the older demo was planned to be reimplemented once it caught up to its place in the chronology of this current demo. Sort of, anyway. The âpresentâ in the WIP is still too early in MCâs life to be at the school arc the old demo started off in.

it once again makes little sense to be affected by sleeping around, since he canât get pregnant and as such there is no physiological way of tainting his blood or producing a bastard.
You canât catch bastardism by sleeping with one, no?
Consequently, breaking off an engagement because the prince is no longer a virgin is bizarre.
He might as well have bedded chupacabras and it shouldnât have changed anything with him being the sole heir to the throne.
Unless the kingdom is a Lithuanian Commonwealth type governance, where nobles can elect the king at will - but this is something that is not explicitly stated, although the lack of enforcement of obedience towards MCâs house might indicate apparent lack of authority.
You said in the quoted message that appearance is everything for someone like MCâs father, but why is there no consequence for cutting him with the sword in public? Thatâs a very grave loss of face that isnât addressed later at all.
This actually wrong even in medieval setting male can still be considered siring a bastard, while women will give birth to bastard, bastard is born from illegitimate union and such cannot inherit title directly via succession however they do have claim to their parents title.
Both equally shunned because one will be considered adulterer another committing fornication, the political implication in feudal era is more severe for male because theyâre normally the one that inherit title, while woman normally will suffer from social bullying because woman doesnât hold any title and political power. (The most common succession normally agnatic-cognatic succession meaning if there is no Male child Female can inherit)
Bastard can inherit only after their parents legitimize said bastard normally by spending political capital, in one side itâs can be seen as atonement/redemption another could see it as insult especially those of other side of the family if the parents is already married, like the father is married man but he slept with the maid, this of course will insult the wife family however the populace can see this move as taking responsibility, atone for father sin, thus could paint him as benevolent because it is right thing to do to acknowledge the bastard.

Honestly, Iâm amazed at this controversy on both ends. This is the world and mindset in said fantasy world that the writer has decided on. Itâs not meant to perfectly reflect our world and viewpoints. This is not a historical documentary. The author has made it clear that reputation is key regardless of gender and bastards are looked down on to the point that killing one, unless they are a useful elemental, is perfectly ok.
If the snobby aristocrats and king wanna look down on Hayden for shacking a foreign bastard prince, regardless of gender, thatâs how this world and society is set up.
Second, how many are turned away that Hayden isnât a virgin. Its gonna suck irl when youâre older if you still expect your date to be virginal. Just saying. 
Of course, that is your right to say no if that is a deal breaker for romancing Hayden. Edit: (I do understand that personal culture or religion may effect oneâs view of the character). But luckily, the story has options in the form of other ROs.

I see your reasoning, but i have to disagree in some points.
1 - Sleeping out of marriage is how bastards are made.
2 - They are young, being a virgin is not dificult and this things have more value in this age. (Losing it to your sweetheart). The expectation of find a partner virgin as you get older is really delusional in our world.
As for me, is frustrating that after two years at the Petrus academy she (Hayden) just
throw all away. If my MC is forced in an arranged marriage he would have look in his father eyes as his blood (and the room) gets dangerously cold and say âI have pity for the one who tries to push it⌠I would rather die⌠or killâ
