Yeah I’ve gotta push out a fix for a few typos and indentation mistakes across the last bit of the prologue and chapter 1 tomorrow lol
Came across something while not immediately pressing is worth noting when in the fight at cemetary ridge we get the option to recover the regimental flag. Im allready up to the point of skirmish point at the pike and have not seen any mention of recovering them. An acctually im kinda amazed how well my company is doing numbers wise considering everything lol 60 men still standing out of what imassuming started at a hundred with only about 23 dead or still missing everyone else is wounded or able to still fight despite that.
This scratches the itch of Dragoon Saga like nothing else. Eagerly awaiting updates.
This is a superb demo.
One note: it says end of demo after part 1 even though there’s more content now.
Forgot to set a flag after re-capturing the regimental colors, should be fixed. And for the prologue, you can definitely in certain scenarios end up with a quite decimated company, but for the most part it should be Relatively intact by the end of it lol
Thank you!
And yeah, I realized I forgot to remove that after adding in Chapter 1, should be fixed now alongside a bunch of typos and continuity errors.
“You feel a strange dissonance—recognizing the tactical prowess of the Confederate command while preparing to oppose the army that includes men from your home state. The professional soldier in you pushes aside such thoughts.“
Says this even with my volunteer officer / no military experience background
“ Your West Point infantry training emphasized tactical terrain assessment—identifying features that could be turned to advantage through patience and disciplined fire control.”
Same thing here. I talked about the terrain with the engineering student, so that’s maybe why I had the option - but this MC never went to WP
any chance you’d make the code visible?
Both of these should be fixed in this next update, thank you!
For sure - I want to clean it up a little bit (purely out of embarrassment for some spaghetti code I’ve got in there in certain places) but next update I can make it visible
Looking forward to seeing what you got planned for us next in the mean time ive slowly started making different play choices and paths testing various things and sating curiosity. Your doing a phenomenal job in such a short time span.
Also this is a question of curioisty seperate from the current arc of game itself in this alternate timeline of events how far ranging do you invision it going?
I appreciate it!
My current plan is to focus the first act around the rest of 1863, the Battle of Pipe Creek and subsequent actions afterwards.
The second act, should encompass all of 1864 with the third / final act making up 1865/end of the war.
Of course, all subject to change but that’s just what I’ve outlined when planning the story out.
Defintly a lot to look forward to
going to assume mostly in whats considered the eastern theater?
Yep! Planned around it being centered on the Eastern theatre while Grant gets up to his actions out west, detached from what’s happening around Gettysburg (for now)
Ya know it would be interesting to see the freak out that people no doubt having with the loss of gettysburg exspecially knowing what little i recall from the real world past people spoke of just because of lee’s invasion that culminated in the battle taking place where it had. I can only imagine how they would have felt had the real world history mirrored what you have here in game. So im really looking forward how new locations shape the future play and how i imagine the critical nature of the current fight is going to be. Not just for our MCs but the greater army around us and even further field to the various armys around and the politicians.
Guessing he still takes Vicksburg, then? And then continues more or less what he was doing in OTL?
Yep, once the situation develops and the story continues I plan on showcasing the effects that a Gettysburg loss has on people outside of the Army of the Potomac and beyond. The beauty of this scenario is that there’s so much to work with, big and small
Lets gooo, we can be from the south now. Time to play a southerner changing sides to the union
He definitely still takes Vicksburg. Beyond that, it’s possible that with another huge loss in the east (being gettysburg) that Grant gets called East much sooner than in OTL, which has a cascading effect on how things went in the West and of course how things unfolded in the east. tldr: yes, for the most part. however, things could change
