Interesting comparison
I don’t think I can share that opinion, but I find your take on it to be very original!
With that being said, Mir is one of the characters I hate the most in IF (not in a “bad” way - I consider her to be a great character), while Gangrel is one of my favorite characters in all of Fire Emblem, and the one my MC always romances when I select female, so yeah, I guess I’m biased.
Well… I guess the fact I adore Leon more than almost any other IF character, and that I’m totally indifferent to Chrom plays a part too…
So yeah, I guess I like both games way too much and have way too strong opinions on the characters to be able to compare them objectively
This book is freaking amazing! It’s a shame that I only read this now. It’s so much longer than most WIPs and the lore and worldbuilding are so well-crafted. I had a total blast playing through as a Thaum specialist, minoring in Enchantment lol
For what it’s worth, I wasn’t able to tell that English is your 3rd language. It’s very well-written, almost poetic.
thats so poetic and sweet considering the fact that if you romance leon and in the jail scene, the mc talks about feeling the warmth of the sun while their foreheads touch.
gods i never wouldve thought i would end up romancing him lmao
This is the scene that… let’s say “solidified” that opinion for me. But honestly, I designed my MC to look like Leon’s “dark counterpart” - for them to be like day and night. It was literally the reason I wanted my MC to look like he looks. So yeah, that idea was with me from the start, and the prison scene only helped.
thats a nice way to design ur mc. i guess i designed my mc to be embody the feeling and aesthetic of spring? idk where i got that but i think it suited what i was going for. the jail scene absolutely destroyed me and my mc and if a possible war is brewing between the two factions? (istg the names are hard to spell sorry lmao) i dont think my mc would be smiling anytime soon
Oh wow, that made me feel weird. The “character song” I have for my MC is HammerFall’s “And yet, I smile” - because despite everything, he always has his optimism, if nothing else.
damn. props to him for being so optimistic. hope he keeps his spirits up for the rest of the ride!
my poor mc has a weak heart and mind. even if he tries to be positive, the negative stuff always seems to take the most space. im surprised you have a character song for your mc. i never really thought of giving one for him. maybe i should
Haha, I have character songs for most of my dearest IF MCs, actually. Music and songs are very important to me, and I often associate songs with works of fiction or characters. Most of my OCs unrelated to IF have at least one song too!
Considering AMR is one of my favorite IFs of all time, and that Leith, my MC in it, is one of my favorite MCs, obviously he has a song!
He will!
He’s a pacifist by nature, so he’s sad about the brewing conflict, but at the same time, he’s loyal to his country and king, no matter what, so at the very least, he’s ready to fight Arcadia with all of his might. Having defined goals and not wavering helps, I think. Not ressenting anyone for what happened to him but fate and his sister, who already had her comeuppeance also helps!
reading his goals and where his loyalties lies makes me feel like a proud parents haha. i think what i have in mind rn is that my mc is hesitant to outward side with the param for fear that they have something up their sleeve to make him obey considering that fact that they are able to resurrect him so i dont doubt they could probably pull up that stupid collar again. also i forgot their name but that one dude in the arcadians pisses me off and even if its kind off petty, i think my mc would add that as one of the reason he would side with param. at least everyone in param didnt treat him like shit the first time they met him
I absolutely love your work just kinda confused when the game was updated with new scenes and all. But do you perhaps ever consider using artbreeder to generate the characters to make it more lifelike and have 3D aspects to it? Instead of just a drawing not that it’s not great it’s fine if not. @Parivir
Now that I’ve had a few hoirs to mull over things…
There were some parts that confised me about the story and it would be awesome to discuss this with people who know more than I do. Might serve as constrictive feedback, too. Take it how you will.
First, after Sister attacks and kills Julius, MC passes out. When they wake up, they tell the rest of the White Fangs about Sister and some of their past, but afaik, no one asks about their Salantira connections. Which is weird since we go to war with them in the next chapter or so.
I would be suspicious of a mage who formerly masqueraded as a vagabond, openly hides their past, turns out to have a personal connection to the woman who killed the king, and is actually the last scion of a noble house from a country we’re going to war with.
Secondly, the war with Salantira. Was it a war or did we just fight Sister? I’m still not super clear on what went down, who held which territories (like Seinen for example?), and what Salantira did afterwards. Did the Duke die? Was everyone brainwashed? Is there still a country after Sister died?
Thirdly, why was MC chosen to be resurrected? And why now? I kinda get that we’re a Mateus, which is a big deal in Arcadia. But if they knew all this time, then why not approach MC after they escaped from Father?
Again, all of these are just personal opinions and the things I and my MC both were confused with. I’m not sure if these were explained in the very very awesome story I just read, but it may be helpful insight for @Parivir as well?
