Well, my MC wants Leon grovelling on his knees, and the city he died to protect to be nothing but a smoldering ruin.
And in the words of the greatest anime character of all time, Vegeta, ‘Is it slavery when you get what you want?’"
Exactly, and depending on your MC, she may not even be using them.
I mean, we all saw how brutal the conquest of Arcadia was in the past. F and countless other Arcadian children have been bled and tortured to death for the magical potential in their blood, never mind all the other atrocities that have happened.
Now, is Thalia a saint and are her motives wholly altruistic? No. But she resurrected the MC after they were condemned and executed by the very people they saved, she offered them a home, she reunited them with Eli whom she also resurrected and she sends them off to save other children from having to go through the same horrific procedures that F, Eli and the MC all had to go through.
Or that’s something someone does when they’re in control. And she is, apparently, considering she’s the only one with access to like 70+ Phantasmas and all their power, whereas the MC only has 2.
Controlling a flying magical city, having unlimited access to the vast magical resources in said city and being pretty much omniscient and omnipotent while you’re there is pretty much a guaranteed cheat code that prevents anyone from usurping or threatening you, least of all a single mage who has only been there for a few months.
We’re not talking about useful knowledge, though. We’re talking about pure, unbridled, magical power. And behind Thalia, the MC is the most powerful, destructive mage in Arcadia.
Are other characters wiser than the MC? Sure they are. That Jiasei woman had centuries of experience on the MC, and despite being weakened, we curb stomped her all the same.
