Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven -- set for release 10/28/16

Hokay. Can I suggest anyone desperate to continue this particular conversation start a new thread for it – or take it to the existing religion thread if you must – and we return this thread to discussing the specifics of Jim’s game?

This thread is about a Zombie Game and screw why?
No need to insert your belief system and insult others.
I want updates and suggestions to make this game better, not another pointless and uncompromising people that go along with it

My point could have been about any other religion, I only chose Christianity because I’ve never heard of anyone trying to use pseudo-science to prove the existence of any other deity, so Christianity is the most relevant. Science can’t prove or disprove the existence of God, but that doesn’t stop people who don’t understand science at all and have already decided on what the answer is from pretending it can and ignoring all evidence to the contrary. Some atheists are the same way. In the same way, people have decided that zombies are real, and will therefore interpret all evidence as prove of this, or not important.

Science is about finding out what the truth is, whatever it is. Not confirming something you’re already convinced is the truth even further. A lot of people seem incapable of grasping that though.

@Pepper Would you be saying the same thing if someone said something promoting Christianity that was offensive to atheists or agnostics? This was on topic, about the whole zombie apocalypse true believer phenomenon. To say that it’s suddenly off topic because I dared to mention religion is silly.

I think the debate has strayed from the topic. Reading all of the above posts, I’m not even sure what the discussion is about. Are zombies real? Is it harmful to believe in the existence of such? I don’t know but for the purpose of getting feedback on this game, I’d rather just end this particular line of back-and-forth as it’s on the verge of going in a bad direction.

When is part two coming?

Will the Martial artists get to do this?

A zombie approaches you, but while you have no weapons, you have something even more terrifying at your disposal, “Falcon…Punch!” You cry as you drive your fist into the zombie with such force it bursts apart.

Please O:-)

You should be able to have a falcon as a pet and also when will next update be out

Will we have the choice to create our own safe house?

@God_of_Demonz Now I’m picturing tons of zombie bone shards impended in your knuckles…

Wow, I sure missed an interesting string of conversations there. Been a while since I’ve been here.

Also, slightly off-topic, but are you @MaraJade , @poison_mara ?

@Crigley13 @cadro my next update includes the science background and I expect to post it in a week. Chapter 2 won’t be out until the end of the summer as I am working on my other game mostly.

@God_of_Demonz I doubt martial artists will be treating zombie heads like wood planks. Hand-to-hand is useful in dealing with non-infected humans and may be used on zombies for simple evasion or take downs. For example, kicking out the leg of a zombie is possible.

@jcury at different parts of the story, you will be able to build up and improve safe havens you use.

@Kaosorer_6. Yes, marajade = poison_mara. The marajade account was not allowing her to login, so she created a new one.

@JimD Ah, I see. Just as like me last time, I suppose.

Will we be having more interactions with non-infected in this game then the last one? Also, will we ever learn how this disease spread so insanely fast? Because biting alone would be VERY unlikely to transmit across the entire world.

Edit: what percentage of humanity is infected? 50%? 60%?

@God_of_Demonz there will be more non-infected interactions. They interest me more than just zombie kills. And yes, there are a lot more answers in Safe Haven, though I am not certain just how I am distributing that info since it’s early in development.

You should be able to have more than 1 pet so you can breed them and have puppys.

@JimD Will the science background be offensive to scientists? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I mean, I’m actually half serious there. I know people don’t really care about offending those who value science as a philosophy, but that doesn’t mean I like it.

Also on topic and hillarious: http://youtu.be/zWutdPGYcEg

Hmm, I don’t know, while against a swarm of zombies there’s only so much you can do with martial arts skills, I’d love to have a scene in which you can break a zombie’s jaw “Try eating someone now!”

@cadro a puppy for every zombie!

@Shoelip I’m trying my best to offend everyone!

So you don’t like sci fi? I mean, I treat zombies as sci fi.

@stsword I’ve done that in ZE (if I recall correctly). A zombie with no bottom teeth tries to bite you but just scrapes your leg.

One thing I was wondering is, if in this setting you’ll have hero/heroine and their crew (assuming they’ll assemble over the course of the narrative) move up into the snowy mountains of Colorado or move further up north. The reason why I ask is because that’s the place go during a Zombie Apocalypse, the cold will just outright freeze the zombies. They have no body heat to save them, they already move rigidly, the freezing cold would not only slow them up even more but just completely freeze them in place.

As a Minnesotan, when the family and I watch the Walking Dead or any of these other zombie flicks, it’s always in these warm climates or fleeing to a warmer climate or some place “nice”. Why? That’s where more zombies would be! Because such places are more densely populated, which equates more zombies! I mean, the irony being the phrase, “Winter is coming…”, under threat of a zombie apocalyptic invasion should be a good thing! Winter is coming! Go north! Funny enough some place like Siberia would be the safest place during the zombie apocalypse!

When making this point I’ve had some people argue to me that it would be tougher to survive. Sure, but considering Inuits and the Nordic peoples have managed to pull it off in the arctic colds for the pass several thousand years, and considering mankind has survived an Ice Age, sticking it out for at most a couple generations up til the zombies all starve or at the very least become less of a threat should be something relatively vastly more simple for modern man to survive–head north into freezing climates!

So, anyway, what I’m asking is, in this case will hero/heroine and (possible) crew do something like that in this case? Head north or up into the snowy mountains during winter. Basically using spring, summer, and the lesser cold weather of fall to migrate and gather supplies and essentials and whatnot before heading to the cold, frozen mountains or further up north during winter where it would be safer from zombies.
