Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven -- set for release 10/28/16

Something that I always notice in my playthroughs (but that only began bugging me now) is that, if the protagonist chooses to watch Jillian and Lyle through the window before letting them in, they see someone hidden behind a bush. The description varies, probably because of the search skill, but the most descriptive line that I found so far (with 84% search) is:

“As you stare out, you spot movement across the street. A short, lean figure crouches behind a bush and peers at the strangers near your house.”

I searched the topic a little, but didn’t find anything regarding this. So, @JimD, can you say something about it now or you’re planning to surprise us later?

@JimD
I found this error in chapter 1 at the zombie attack. My profession was custom and other. I chose “There’s no way he can break in. He’ll eventually wander away.” I didn’t know that the brain had to be killed.

I killed the zombie outside but it said I dragged the body outside.

@StarshinaSokolov With the figure, it is leading to something in the future (an NPC) but I can’t say more. You did remind me to add more allusions to that NPC.

I made quite a few changes based on your feedback so far, so I hope you have time/interest in reading the new version after 12/15.

@Bugreporter I have been making all of the changes you reported and will have them in the new version.

Yeah, I thought so…I was 99.99% certain that you wouldn’t say anything, but it was worth a try =P

Of course I’ll read the new version. To be honest, I can hardly wait for it to come out!

I thought it was a sneaky bush zombie. Darn those sneaky bush zombies… Though I do suspect this NPC may be familiar to Jillian and Lyle. I expect them to break into our haven and await for our return like a creepy bastard.

Sneaky bush zombies are terrifying! State of Decay had this one kind of zombie called a Feral that moved like a gosh darned predatory cat stalking you and it would always jump out at me from the bushes and I’d be so terrified I’d forget to react and bam! Dead character.

Just look at it. It just wants to hug you.

Also @JimD I completely missed that you responded (guess the @ me didn’t work), but I’m so glad you’d consider adding it in! Movie Star has to be my favorite non-combat oriented profession, though… I suppose stunt training might add some survival skills. Huh… Anyways, looking forward to the 12/15 update!

I’m very familiar with the ferals on state of decay. At first I thought they were a nuisance until one of them CHEWED MY CHARACTER IN HALF after that I grew incredible fear for the outside.

All my people die by a feral in that game

@JimD
I found this error in chapter 2. I chose to visit Fred’s house and selected “Shoot the zombies through the window.”

I had a tactial shotgun as a primary and a Glock 17 as a secondary but It said that I drew out my back up weapon the Glock.

Ferals are so easy to kill, just roll out of the way just before the grab you. This causes them to fall to the ground which allows you a chance to quickly execute them before they get up. With juggernauts make sure you have a building or rock or something behind you and wait for them to charge you, roll out of the way at the last second and the hit the object and get stunned. This allows you to get a few hits on them and it generally only takes 2 or 3 times to do this.

In that game I kill everything with a melee weapon without my characters dying, its actually really easy. Its only hard when your playing on a high breakdown level or your base is under siege in lifeline because you get massive amounts of zombies everywhere.

Sir, this has made my day

I found this spelling error in chapter 1.
I chose to kick Lyle and Jillian out and selected “Trick them into leaving your items.” I had persuasion level 5.

his junk

I noticed in chapter 1 if you chose “Retrieve the bag Fred dropped between your houses.” And don’t have high willpower or stealth, in chapter 2 when you visit Fred’s house there is no option to retrieve the bag.

I found a spelling mistake in challenges in the challenge Short Fuse.

in a negative way

I found this spelling mistake in the prologue as a scientist with a Short Fuse.

Your hands

Delete the first full.

I noticed that in the prologue if you go on a date and select ‘I call the police’ It says that you call on your smartphone, but in the inventory you have a cell phone.

I found this spelling mistake in chapter 2 at chipper ridge school. I chose to “Climb through the ventilation system.”

You move on all fours for the length of a room

I’m guessing it’s because a Glock has more range than a shotgun, making it the better option in that case.

@JimD
I found this spelling mistake in chapter 2, when searching the three story home.

Clear of ash?

I found this spelling error in ‘shows stats’ then ‘review crafting reference’

Delete the full stop after ‘parts’

I found a spelling mistake as a teenager near the start of chapter 2.

Add a full stop after ‘yesterday’.

In chapter 1 if you confront Lyle and Jillian and you chose to let them stay, the option to kick them out is still present.

Quick update – I have been sick for the past week and not working much on Safe Haven. I don’t expect to do much this next week. I’ll post whatever revisions I’ve done on 12/15 (revising the prologue and chapter 1) but will post another update with chapters 2 and 3 just after the new year.Thanks for your patience.

@JimD
Do you know when in December you will post the update?

The post above yours should say all. Revisions posted the 15th and updates to chapter 2 and 3 after the new year

@JimD in chapter 3, what will we focus on? Will it be more missions and hunting supplies, getting to know our survivors on a more personal level or bit of both?

Right now I’m still waiting for Emily to make a cameo and Explain her back story, What was her relationship with Tom like, and what Tom used to be before he went bonkers at zombie exodus(It’s weird but I really loved Tom and his place in the story he showed us a possible effect of an apocalypse to a person, of how it can break someone and make them do irrational things, many people hate him but I don’t blame him I blame the zombie apocalypse).
That aside I played as a teenager with a dog and a dependent child and so far I’m loving it.
