Okay this was a very strange bug that should be fixed now.

Yes these are placeholders for right now.

What if Zeta virus invaded War for the West world :skull: lmao

Btw, @JimD did you ever think about someday writing a zombie story in a medieval setting? That would be quite unique and great of playing.

Also, looking foward for part 4 release

All the best for you

I would not want to be the poor loser stuck in a world where you had to fight zombies without firearms

It’s not like crossbows are inherently worse. Firearms are useless too if you’re not already a good shot.

Bolts and arrows can be reused, and they make much less noise. However, hacking rotten corpses with a poleaxe would also be highly effective :axe:
I guess a downside would be getting tired from all this melee effort…

There’s that true, but the average joe can be taught how to use a decent hunting rifle in a shorter amount of time. Placed on a barricade against zombies that aren’t masters of coordination, a handful of riflemen can kill a ton. Less time between shots, too. Also, just in general, actual medical care is huge, even with the limited resources

There’d be way less humans in total, so way smaller human zombie hordes too… I’d imagine a couple of knights with plate armor and a mace would be invincible against most human hordes. Wildlife though…

Which reminds me, does a cat who eats a zombie mouse turn into a zombie? Are there defences against zombie rodents?

That’s why I mentioned crossbows instead of longbows. I’ve been led to believe crossbows are functionally firearms in usability terms. I could be wrong though, never handled a crossbow so I can’t compare from experience.

But note: average joe can be taught how to use a decent rifle in a short amount of time against living opponents. Most hits that can stop a living being just slow down a zombie a little at best. Center-of-mass hit isn’t going to stop a zombie (unless it’s explosive I guess, but where are you going to get a huge supply of explosive ammo in case of a zombie apocalypse?). Headshots are hard. That’s why not everyone who’s been at a military service is a sniper.

That is true, but has nothing to do with firearms.

Yeah, the medical care thing was just something thhat popped into my head. I conceed the smaller horde thing though, that actually would be huge. The game is kinda vague on the whole zombie animal thing. We do, for example, see what happens to a starving dog when it feeds on infected flesh, and even then, it’s not quite as insane, it still responds to orders.

I think the biggest problem for people in a medieval setting if zombie outbreak occur is information (or lack of it)

It’s not like they have internet, radio, or phone to allow basic information to be shared like “Zombies are here, bites turn you into zombies, etc.”. You won’t know about the zombie apocalypse until it’s too late

Also since medieval people ain’t exactly the most healthy people, most zombies might just be assumed to be sick, drunken people until it’s too late.

It is, but in the original ZE squirrels (I think it was squirrels) were used for testing potential cures, which makes no sense if they can’t get infected.

It does seem to affect mammals more than non-mammals–as seen by the raccoon in Part 3, the coyotes in Part 2, and the dog at the farm in Part 2. Also the squirrel at the very beginning may be a zombie squirrel. I suspect that it’s like rabies–affects placental mammals, but marsupials are resistant and birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects are immune/unaffected.

What we need is somebody to actually collect all of the various virus related lore that’s out there because there’s a shit ton and have it all centralized would be a great start to understanding the rules of how it does and doesn’t work

You can get a goodly amount of it in Part 3, on the Scientist route. Or are you saying out of game?

I meant out of game

Just played Part 4 not sure if it’s been brought up the River Dogs section in particular is very buggy

When introducing the group to Casey it said I gave him a fake name Over the CB earlier but I didn’t do that

When our nephew asks if he can’t go play with Chloe I told him he can make his own decision but Casey reacted as if I told him No

When Casey asked me if I had seen Joe and the other from the gas stop I was only given options to lie to him

Also as a Teen when meeting Alexey I got the option to tell him I was a Scientist, Doctor, and a ER Nurse

I’m guessing it’s due to my stats but that choice really should be linked to your chosen profession or at least Alex should call you out on the BS lol

Is it a bug that whenever Rachel is the leader, river dogs or rats ambush us, and I keep dying?
