I guess I can personally excuse that out of bias, since I don’t hold Driver and Rosie to the same standards as the others. I kinda see them as big kids, Driver especially.
My problem with Rosie and I guess Driver(he’s dead in my playthroughs) is that they’re too easy to sway it seems like they follow too much unless someone’s trying to rape someone. They almost seem like puppets to me anyway.
Maybe they were just desperate and wanted to stay alive. What with Dillian dying on them and their group being nothing more than a roving band of robbers, it’s no surprise they’d jump at the chance to be in a more stable group.
That could possibly apply to Driver, but Rosie seems like the kind of person who’s impulsive, unstable and does what she wants, whenever she wants. Less of a puppet in my eyes, more of a nuisance.
That’s kinda the point of their characters, I think. I’ll admit it could set up drama down the road with them potentially deserting a peaceful group for the Silverthornes (or another group) simply for the promise of raiding and looting.
Or it could be an elaborate con to earn your trust and then one day they give you a sandwich and next thing you know you’re dying from poison. (Extreme worst case scenario) But Trust is earned and they still need to earn mine.
Rosie and Driver are lost souls, no one care about them and respect them… hence when someone like Dillan pretend to be their friends , they feel appreciated and willing to follow the influence of a bad person… basically they are like blank sheet who could be dyed black or white… or colourful
Hence , that’s the reason why some of us here willing to pull them back into the light , if they are willing to listen to us and change their wrong ways
It is about teach them to save their own soul, well both of them really learn from their mistake , so we should embrace them into us…
I think it is similar with the WiP Through Broken Lense , the MC is a murderer since he/she is a child … but an agent decided to pull the MC back into the light so that MC could serve a better purpose … in that story MC is like Driver and Rosie, so who knows maybe Rosie and Driver will be a Hero of their own story one day
Edit : I agree that trust need time, but think about it @CreoleGuy519, if they betray us … they lost the most because they lost someone who is willing to love them with all of hearts… but we only lost someone who don’t like us… our lost is minimal right ?? :-)
It is a way of going the way of least resistance, a way many people choose today, so I can understand part of it. I am not a very pious person, which is quite normal here in germany, outside of Bavaria^^. So retrieving the corpses would not be something I personally find useful, but I understand people who see this in a different way.
There is a difference between forgiving someone and completely trusting them. I am really forgiving, I can’t hold a grudge against someone for a long time. But hte people I trust are quite few. Might be because I know how people are. I like most people, because I can understand their intentions and come to realize, that in real life you can’t change anyone, aside from yourself and even that is really difficult from time to time^^. Everyone has flaws and you’ve got to live with that^^ But I have to stop the philosophy mode, so I will stop here. Do not take what I say too serious, I am a strange person, always been and proud of^^
I’m not saying Rosie and Driver don’t deserve a chance at redemption, I just think it would be a lot smarter to be weary of their intentions and have them do the work to earn it than rather give it freely. Also to say our loss is minimal if they do go back to their own ways is wishful thinking (again in my opinion). Because Life is hard and cruel enough without the dead rising out of their graves and to think we can’t lose anymore than normal from someone we’re potentially living with for the foreseeable future is asking for trouble. (again in my opinion.)
So I was looking at the newsletters, and I found or rediscovered really that on the one sent on 8/12/2018 at 5:03 pm that for part 3 . “At least three other groups will be introduced, each with their own goals and personalities. Allegiances will be tested in your group. Members may leave and join other groups. You may steal members of other groups. Trade, wars, and diplomacy may occur”. Thoughts ?
Sounds cool, I have a Kelly, Lilian and Parker to Share, what might I get for those? I would trade them for a hunter or a nurse or something like that.
That meeting these groups are going to be a particularly big test for the MCs who are leader (or even just MCs that are doing their best to keep everyone together to the end). It’s already clear that each of the people in the current group have their own reasons for being part of the group and a number of them are (more of less) kinda just thrown together in the heat of the beginnings of the zombie outbreak. So it’ll be interesting to see what kinds of group end up tempting each member and what kind of reasons the may choose to break from (or stay) with MC’s (or what tempts the other group’s members into being swayed to join their own group).
It’ll especially be interesting to see how these other groups handle the hardships of the Outbreak and what they’re darker sides might be. And as a leader of group, how the MC goes about making alliances, rivals, or even tempting those of the opposite group to join their own band of misfits (while possibly also dealing with keeping said band of misfits together). And finding out who to trust and who not to trust (which for me is already the Silverthrones so far; kinda curious how the other groups will turn out).
…though I’m going to be honest; feel like Jillian might be the first to be tempted to break from the group. She’s a con-artist; it’s almost sort of a habit for her to go for the option that seems to offer more (judging by Lyle’s comment about how her first instinct is to con everyone they meet not that he’s one to talk).
I think it would be interesting to see people leave or consider leaving depending on bad decisions or loss of moral. I can see Rachel leaving if we treat her like shit for not telling us who she really is and no one even listens to her viewpoint because they don’t trust her. Hopefully not because she has like 3/4 or a half of our armory and she only let’s us use her weapons not keep them so we could potentially be losing one of our strongest allies.
LMAO You want to trade our weakest links for another groups strongest!? That’s hilarious imagine tricking the new group into thinking they’re are greatest fighters and we’ll be sad to see them go but, we look forward to working with your friends and then once they join us we just up and move before they find out how ill equipped they are!?
