Role players see the stats as a realistic representation of your skills. It is like a curriculum.
If you suck at guns and melee you don’t put I am best with shooting and melee so My ability to them grows really fast. When is exactly all contrary if you have never use weapons and aren’t strong you will learn use them slower not faster as you aren’t a natural.
Is like my old example saying Conan that doesn’t know how read is a beast in magic and religion skills both need high intelligence and reading.
Pretty sure that level 5 skill is enough for all important stat checks. And that can be reached without making the skill your prefered skill (especially for a college student). So that allows you to choose electronics and driving or crafting as your prefered skill which would be better fit for your character I think.
Doing now a playthrough with my doctor MC who is a cat owner and tbh I find it kinda weird how we keep being offered to take the cat with us on scavenging. What use would I have for them there especially if chances are high to run into zombies?
To be fair, you don’t need a skill to be preferred for you to prioritize learning it. I always saw the preferred skills as skills that the MC had a knack for, be it through practice or intuition.
For example, my MC. Her preferred stats are Empathy and Persuasion, because she’s planning on majoring in Psychology and I always just envisioned her as a naturally charismatic extrovert. But in terms of skills she actually prioritizes, it’s definitely combat. Not to the point where she becomes Rambo, but just enough so that she can defend herself should shit hit the fan.
Cool that makes more sense, I’ll probably stick with stealth and electronics for her then cause I do want a realistic character. In fact I intentionally started her off with very low combat skills and didn’t do anything to raise them until after the battle on the hill cause I felt she needed to have some experience first and have a couple fights where she really struggled before she got any better. I only chose them as preferred skills cause I thought preferred skills were ones that by default would gradually raise throughout the game. But if it’s actually the skills you want to eventually be superior in, electronics and stealth are definitely much more her style
Also this may sound weird but I hope later in the game there’s some kind of awkward repercussions if the MC takes that shirtless photo of Tommy from his house (if he’s not your main RO), like him or your main love interest finding out you have it. I thought it would be funny at the start to roleplay my MC as having a silly crush on him even though she knows he doesn’t like girls (and just being a hopeless flirt with most guys in general) meanwhile having Jaime in the friendzone and not realizing she had deeper feelings for him all along til they spontaneously hookup after he finally makes the first move. I could imagine Tommy or Jaime finding out Alana has the photo to either be really hilarious or painfully awkward as she desperately tries to make up some excuse for having it. Tommy might be mad that she thought to do that right after finding his mom dead but if he eventually got over it and then just brought it up every once in a while to tease her I think that would be funny since he seems to have a bit of a snarky jokester side to him. I think Jaime would be pretty uncomfortable with it and it would take some persuasion to make him understand. Other RO’s depending how close you are with them would probably react the same or maybe brush it off a bit easier. Anyways I imagine Jim added that choice to take it for a reason, that it’ll come around later, and I think it’ll be funny to see it play out

Is rachel faking loveing the mc and will she be a ro in part 3. Also how long has rachel been spying on us every since she visited her cousin. Does she watch the mc take a shower or go to bathroom. Deping on the mc job how she spy on them. Like if the mc is a soldier and deploying to south Korea would she buy a plain ticket and fly to South korea or if the mc is a high school student would she at like a teenager spy on the mc if so that’s creepy as hell. Did the Cia give her the mission to spy on you or is acting alone. Are there other people spying on the mc if so will be able to meet them.
Lol that’s fair, I dont see Jaime as very controlling though, he has a lot of trust in my MC to handle herself and doesnt ever try to talk her out of doing anything he supports all her plans. I still think it’s natural to be uncomfortable about your significant other carrying around a shirtless photo of someone else but I think he’d get over it
I have a total head canon about Rachel scope of spying and all that for Mara. Is very interesting the scope of Funerary assassin and fact she knows your professional career whatever it be and she tries hard seduction first time you see her Whatever be your sexual identity.

Edit About Photo is pure cultural. In Spain is normal having photos of your friends make in parties beaches etc. Lol The everyone is pissed lol as we have photos in bikinis and guys in slips in beach. or drunkenness etc… People hugging…

There’s no definitive answer to that right now it’s all speculation and personal opinions at this point. You’ll have to wait until part 3 (or 4 if we’re lucky) to get an answer to that question as well as your other ones.
I guess that’s why, my character doesnt want to go out of her way to raid or attack people unless necessary, I think her and Jaime are morally on par with each other, she’s just a little more open to improvising and a lot more cautious when being confronted
Also I think it’s really cool that other cultures aren’t so rigid about showing skin always being a sexual thing but I think North America as a whole is still pretty conservative about that compared to Spain, especially where I’m from (Canada). No disrespect meant just most people in my life probably wouldn’t like the idea of their partner having photos of someone else half clothed but like you said its definitely a cultural thing.

Anyone here knows how to get Lyle and Jillian to open up about the Russian mob case (their full true back story)? I only got it once as a teen, and has since failed to replicate it.
So far it seems it isn’t possible to be a total husk of humanity. I’ve tried killing almost everyone I meet and it hasn’t worked out. The only ones you’re really able to kill massacre style are the 3 river dog dudes at the gas station. Anyone find other “massacre” scenes? I tried the one with Kent but it seems it won’t happen since Jaime wants to “put me down”.
I don’t think you can really say that Rachel was spying on the MC before the outbreak. She was just occasionally stationed in the area, and was just keeping tabs on people she thought might be useful, not by spying, but by making sure that she was someone we knew and might want to help out. (Actually, that’s a point @JimD: do Tommy and Parker know Rachel, too?) I guess she might actually have been spying on a scientist or hacker MC…
After the outbreak, she was watching us more closely, but only for a couple of days before she decided whether we were useful enough to work with or not, and even then I think she was probably watching everyone in the street, and just reached the conclusion that we were her best option.
