Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

So you created Zombie Joe 2 xD

I imagine you wouldn’t know about this if you never tried to see if you can do it in the first place. Or if you only played one kind of playstyle for your MC then you’d find out about this here on the forum.

I could use another zombie joe… I hope we get one in the future, the undead can be a useful asset.

Well, as I said earlier I like to have a full cast when I start part 2. But this time I went fully for roleplaying, which resulted in losing a few people. My teenager MC didn’t let Jillian and Lyle in bc she doesn’t trusts two complate strangers enough to let them into her home. I didn’t have Driver and Rosie either bc Leslie understandable doesn’t want to have people who tried to kill her an hour ago or so anywhere near her. Also Tommy decided to go by himself even tho Leslie tried to actually be nice to him. Lost some good fighters there. And since I imagine Leslie to be physically weak and kinda awkward when it comes to talking I didn’t manage to figure out yet how she could be useful at the battle against the zombie horde, hence how I lost Woody.

To me it sounds more risky than useful.

So I just started a new playthrough with a college student who’s romancing Jaime and I’m really finding their whole dynamic so interesting. I think they make a great team and have such good chemistry whether it’s platonic or romantic. But I think that Jaime being the leader of my group adds a sort of…tricky element to it cause there have been a few occasions where others question his ability to lead, and even he admits he doesn’t deal with pressure well and he seems to have a hard time putting his foot down and making tough calls which therefore makes him very prone to compassion fatigue. My MC is quite different from him in that regard, she’s a lot more pragmatic and accepting of the way of the world now and she knows what has to be done to survive. So even though she’s not as charismatic as Jaime and doesn’t have the self confidence to see herself as a leader, a lot of the group trust her and look to her for guidance because she’s very smart and has excellent survival instincts. And I’ve noticed that so far, Jaime doesn’t seem to have a lot of qualms with putting her in charge of a tough decision or mission even if it might put her in danger, cause he knows she’s capable and can recognize when her strengths are better suited to a task than his, which is understandable. But I wonder if the group will start to doubt if he’s the best person to lead and my MC would sort of step up in his place, how he would respond and if it would impact their relationship. I have a hard time imagining him being mad and resentful, he seems like the type who would support whoever the group felt was the best leader (especially if it was his best friend or romantic interest) but it’ll be interesting to see how that may play out

  1. What part of our post apocalyptic life doesn’t have risk attached to it ? Inviting/recruiting has risk, going on a supply run is risky even going to sleep at night with people on watch doesn’t mean you’re safe at night. Nothing we do, or will do isn’t risk free.

  2. If your worried about them getting loose and killing people that can be remedied by removing the zombies teeth or jaw as well as cutting off their arms. If you want to stockpile them then probably find a place large enough to store a hoard or 2 and lure them and trap them inside.

You have point here tho we can still decide what risks to take aside from those which can’t be avoided.

Sure we could do this but what exactly would be their use?

scare off some of the possible looters and raiders, and use them to persuade some prisoners like Benton to talk, if you have a small pack of them with teeth but without hands you can also use them as a decoy/initial attack wave against known armed militia you are/would be planning to hit

Maybe we can go whisper from walking dead and start wearing zombie skin’s

Sorry I forgot how to do it on mobile havent been on this forum in so long I’ll just ask later haha

Thanks @poison_mara!

So @JimD my question is do you still plan to include a meeting with MC’s nephews father in the story and what can you reveal about the nature of that encounter?

I’m already using Zombie Joe as a scarecrow to keep random survivors away. I also would like to intimidate Benton. (A zombie with it’s teeth a couple inches away from tearing him apart should loosen his tongue. If not then I’ll just have to be more creative.)

I don’t think a small hoard of zombies without their hands are actually going to be that successful in killing any of our enemies. If anything they’d be killed fairly quickly by a well armed group and that would only accomplish a slight or moderate decrease in the amount of ammo they have. Which seems like a waste of time and energy to collect a small group of the undead, strip them of their means of grabbing people and then they get killed fairly quickly, that just doesn’t seem effective too me. I would think that a large hoard or 2 that is still able to bite and scratch the living that are presented to them would actually be able to put up a fight and successfully take out the living especially if we take down/sabotage the group’s fence or barricade that surrounds their compound.

What sort of use can you get out of Fred? I play a college student in the city and besides being able to go collect some supplies at his place after talking to him on the phone and contacting his mom, I haven’t heard anything about him, and my character doesn’t have delusions

Really, the supplies is all you need to justify him as a useful asset. They’re very numerous, especially considering that you get them all for free.

I feel like it should be possible to be in a relationship with both Brody and Madeline.

Who dis?

Brody’ sister? Did i get the name wrong?

It’s Madison  You can enter a relationship with both (I think, I haven’t tried it myself) but it’ll only be addressed as being with one or the other like with every other pair of ROs.

See, i feel like you should be able to get, you know, both perks. Family benefits.

I don’t know many siblings (any, actually) who would be down to be intimate with the same person. It seems pretty reasonable to me that this isn’t an option.
