Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

Do you mean killed them when they threatened us in our camp and pulled guns on us ?

That about sums it up… Even as a diplomatic character, I was Soo tempted to just go guns blazing.

So did that result in Keith kidnapping Kelly in your playthrough ? Because I think that’s the consequence of trying to resolve things peacefully (in my playthrough at least.)

That’s the most likely way to get people caught in the crossfire and die as a result. Having Rachel and a few others catches the Silverthornes by surprise and puts them at a disadvantage.

You need to have High Persuasion to request both sides to calm down and Keith to leave peacefully , or High intimidation of you ask Keith to stand down … else he will takes Kelly as hostage …

It is about applying our strength to resolve a situation

Define high persuasion. What is the exact level of persuasion that you had to accomplish this ?

My persuasion was 5 every time i resolve it peacefully  with leadership 4

If your persuasion is 4 , there is a chance to train it up to 5 (from one of the companion )before the Keith encounter

So it sounds like you accomplished this by having above average skill points how many did you have ?

Let me see …
My primary MC at the beginning ( without extra points)

Empathy 7

Persuasion 5

Firearms 5

along the way Leadership improve to 4

For the extra skill points , i would had more skills with above average skill points

Please put stats needed into spoilers i don’t want to know metagaming data at all.

I have no absolutely problem and never have a gun fired in my camp. Except if i want to i didn’t know there were any issues there

Jeez !! Overpowered Much !? No wonder why that worked for you. You can just talk your way out of any situation.

Again, you have high level persuasion and God level empathy it’s not so easy to do that when one doesn’t have those high stats.

Well is logical need persuasion to stop a damn war it won’t work if you don’t have sex appeals or intimidating personality. persuasion and empathy has to have their spotlight not INSERT GUNS TO AUTOMATICALLY WIN.is a realistic game if people with Zero persuasion and no reading skills try to diplomatic stop a war well it will backfire. I don’t go with zero mele to knife hordes lol. COMMON SENSE

I can’t wait for Jim to let my main MC hold therapy sessions for the zombies so they can discuss their problems like rational folk and stop attacking us :hugs:

i am tired to hear people in other forums saying DON’T PUT POINTS IN PERSUASION IS SHIT IS TRASH etc etc… Then complain why they cant make persuasion with zero points on it i mean they will talking so bad that it should be like in first fallout and taking in grunts and make your allies hate you.
In an apocalyptic settings people is more messed up than a zombie and persuasion and empathy is a tool to deal with humans that’s it. It is not trash

Hahaha… I emphasis my strengths to the 2 most opposite polarity " Love and War " ( Empathy , Persuasion and Firearms), love comes first when trying to approach a situation but if love couldn’t do it, i need to prepare for war :-)

It is similar to Eli in the Book of Eli, where he will try to talk sense to everyone he meets and advice them to stand down in any hostile encounters but if his opponents insist on using violent approach , Eli has no choice but to dispatch them …

I do feel persuasion is essential for character and story development for those who want to explore the apocalyptic world and marvel what wonders they could find there

The number of times you have referenced the damn Book of Eli and the thousands of ways you have connected this game to that book is insane. No matter what the topic is you always find a way to make it relevant again it’s unescapable and maddening to me. I haven’t even seen the movie or read the book but I don’t even think I’ll ever need to because you keep bringing it up and telling me what it’s about. GIVE ME A BREAK PLEASE !!! :sob::sob::sweat::sob::sob::sob::sweat::sweat:

You and I have different interpretations of ā€œmarvelā€ and ā€œwonderā€ because all I’m thinking of when you say that is the number of ways we could die each and every day.

do you guys think we will be able to solve the mystery of who killed those people in the camp?? Aka the graves discovered by Rachel and Bailey??

I think I wrote about this before, but that post must’ve been removed or swallowed by all the other posts. But I wanna ask, is the group that you meet and see on the stat page the only survivors you will ever meet? Or will there be new survivors to meet that will join this stat page and your group? Also, idk if it was intentional for Jim to make this reference, but if you run scientist path and go to the lab, the head scientist there is Mindy. And idk about anyone else, but Mindy was one of my favorite characters in ZE. Ofc, in this scientist intro option in ZESH, all hell breaks loose and the zombie specimens escape, but Mindy escapes with an FBI agent. So connecting the first question with this one, will there be an opportunity to incorporate Mindy into your survivor group later on? I’d love to see that personally.

I think that it’s safe to guess that Keith and his group did that. Simply because their camp is actually not that far off and their group also specifically mentioned ā€œkilling those who don’t cut itā€, aka women, children, or the disabled (pretty much anyone who can’t prove useful). Also, Keith’s group has the ruthlessness in their values to pull it off without dissent. Overall though, there are only 2 malevolent groups in ZESH so far that I’ve discovered. Those being The Silverthornes led by Keith and the ā€œNew Armyā€ led by Colonel Goodman, who seems to have killed Colonel Faulkner. (You can detect this if you speak with Colonel goodman over the SAT phone as a military man in part 2.2. Just ask him about how Faulkner died, and if you have high empathy and perception, it says he’s lying about how Faulkner was KIA.

Ah… Well, my perception is ( also due to what i am experiencing in my real life ) , when we are in a "sadden " or dreaded state of our life, we will start to marvel what we used to have and what we could lose in an instant or flicker of our life … it is with such moment that i will feel the gratitude of what i can still witnessing ( Sunrise , sunset , waving of the tree branches , chipping of birds , the rainbow etc… ) as well as the faint memory of the past when things were merrier … i suppose we could relate all this circumstances with Empathy when we want to connect to others who we meet and with persuasion , communicate with them about what life we used to have and what the future outcome might be … It is true that we might die or lose someone every moment from now on, but it is also how we learn to appreciate what we hold now before we lose them … and at such i marvel what beauty i could still witness with the potential remainder of my days

Truly that is a master piece of apocalyptic movie which i strongly advice you to watch

I’m not going to because you’ve talked about it at nauseum. Props though for being creative about how you bring it up again and again.

@iEch0 We don’t actually know 100% if Goodman’s New Army is actually malevolent even though I suspect they’re. Also while I do suspect Keith might have killed them I think it’s possible someone else did especially since he apparently gave orders to his lackeys to leave them alone. Yes he could be lying about that but why would he lie about that since he was very straight forward about the M.O of his and his group ? It doesn’t make sense for him to say ā€œI’ll kill you and your group here if you don’t become apart of our raider groupā€ and admit to the fact that he killed members of his own group who refused to fall in line but then lie about killing some strangers when he’s told us that much information.
