Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven General Discussion (Part 3 beta coming in December)

I’m the maker of the game and a mod, so I’m using my mod side for this.

Please, no further discussion on killing animals/veganism. This is not a game that will change minds on it.

Agreed. My next thoughts regarding the C4 were: “Where should I put this? The Silverthornes’ ammo storage? Their fuel storage? Under Keith’s pillow with a pressure trigger?”

I didn’t. Someone else did.

@JimD
The uniform bug (Keith says MC is wearing a National Guard uniform to a military MC wearing a combat uniform) is still there if you play as custom military.

I had a question. Is the man that we meet in the supermarket if you are playing a home maker related to Brody and Madison? He did say his name was Milford if I remember.

So I just found out Mrs Ortega is dead…

What was the point for this character again?

Given deeply feeling? Is it a zombie game if nobody dies where is point?

What!? No not the armory we could use that and by use I mean raid(possibly/theoretically).

I always thought of her role as keeping her son in line and limiting the amount of stupid decisions he makes if the MC is incapable of building enough rapport with him to do that themselves. So really it seems just keeping her son on a leash if you can’t get him to listen or don’t care enough to try to get him to listen or whatever other role you have for her.

Mrs Ortega, the Latino neighbor lady who you met outside the Markavos, not Nora.

Wow shows how much of an impact she had on me as a character. I think she had something to do with Bailey’s background other than that not much I think she was at the riot that took place at the Makarov’s what made you think of her ?

Only just found out she died and was Bailey’s landlady. Given the amount of details she was given in the earlier versions of the game (a whole section in the character reference and a slot of the survivor status at the end of part one, as well as (I think, haven’t check in a while) relation stats in the code) I assumed she was going to be showing up later. I only recently decided to probe Bailey a bit, and found out what actually happened.

The point of those characters is giving depth and importance to certain choices and discover new thing while replaying. That’s showing the love for details. So that’s point secondary npcs in a zombie game give depth and then die at start of outbreak

Admittedly, I don’t really remember how she died. For all I know, she could’ve possibly turned into a zombie.

Would be neat if we managed to stumble upon her zombie self later on in the story.

Compromise on the Silverthorn armory: we sneak in, steal all the best bits we can carry, then set C4 on what’s left, then get out and hit the detonator.

Results: More ammo for us, no ammo for the Silverthorns (Good luck attacking without it), plus, a large explosion, which may cause a large fire (no fire department to call in the zombie apocalypse) and/or attract a zombie horde to their camp.

Ha Ha Ha! Have fun, Silverthorn scum!

I am more for infiltrating use mara sex appeal but if you are inside i would go for poison bombs in their place at night from inside. I have the idea they have a building like a bunker inside launch some easy to make cianide bombs using a gas mask you could handicap BADLY their chances if you had an attack scheduled same time. C4 is great if you’re alone or with bad fighting

Plus, if you talk to Bailey at the lake and read between the lines a bit [when you ask about the break-in at Mrs. Ortega’s house, you can infer that Mrs. Ortega was a drug dealer. Bailey describes large amounts of a drug, Oxycontin, in a medicine cabinet at the Ortega household. Bailey also mentions Mrs. Ortega didn’t have a prescription for the drug, nor did she get it from a large pharmacy, but a local chain to “give them business,” as Mrs. Ortega told Bailey.

The break-in was described by Bailey as carried out by a group of people with guns and bad hygiene. One woman, who Bailey had to knock out with a toilet basin top, was described as having rotting teeth and being ecstatic at finding the drug stash in Mrs. Ortega’s house. One can infer that Mrs. Ortega got raided by her pre-apocalypse drug clients, eager for one last big drug party before the end of the world. The noise of the raid drew in zombies, with predictably bloody results. Poor Bailey didn’t know about any of this drug stuff, she was just a innocent college tenant caught up in the crossfire./]

@JimD
Missing punctuation, found in chapter 7, in the pharmacy mission.
I chose the option: “I’ll snipe the sniper”.

Now in position, you draw your Light assault rifle

Add a full stop after the bolded word.

Bug, when choosing how to deal with the sniper.

The sniper will be waiting, and however you choose to leave this small space will likely determine the outcome of your entire encounter. You decide to… You decide to…

Remove the bolded text.

“We better, uh, get going,” says Ed, standing. “So long.”.

Remove the extra full stop.

@JimD If Bailey is choosen as a romantic interest, will we have some more conversation with her in future ?? Like taking her for mission or
her volunteeringg to come with us?? Because other ro such as maddison and Jillian do that in few missions in second chapter

I think that we will see more of Bailey’s story in future parts as we had only vague sense of what Jillian and Madison are…so the extra content was (sort of) in order. As we already know few bits and pieces of how Bailey came to live with Rachel already if you talk to her at the lake. So her quota of backstory was already fulfilled.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to seeing more of her as she seems the only sane enough character in the whole group. She is not cynical like Madison or Jillian nor she is postive-for-no-reason like Jamie (though that is not etirely true but still…) she isn’t prone to violence like Reily nor is she deceptive or cunning like Rachel, she is more cautious than Kelly and her emotions seem very convincing among all the others. She is by far my favourite and the most realistic character in the whole game(though, it doesn’t mean others aren’t realistic but, she is my favourite).

Does anyone use Medical training more than science when finding a vaccine?
