If you’re a military MC you’re already considered one of them so there’s no point in infiltrating an organization you’re already a part of the next step is to find out about Goodman. For a non-military MC you’d first have to know about the existence of the New Army and find out about Lancelot.
Possible Problem with that is Goodman seems to know everybody who is part of the New Army or at least keeps track of everybody he told about the New Army in some way. So some random person that shows up with a plausible yet still shady story could be undone just by not being recognized by the man in charge of this operation.
Just because he has access to a lot of them doesn’t mean he won’t want or need more in the future.
Well yeah it’s tiring but it would potentially allow us to understand the inner workings of our enemies/potential enemies and let us understand what we’re actually up against. Trying to initiate a face to face confrontation without knowing all the capabilities of your adversaries and their numbers seems like you’d be walking to your death(in my opinion). Which makes me wonder what would be your plan to find out information about enemy groups if you’re not interested in espionage ?
Well for my opinion, there are too many group that could either be friends or enemies , we couldn’t possible track all of them and classify them one by one… well we could but that would be wasting the remaining days of our life performing things that are “technical”, “robotic” and " predictable" … yeah, it could be the end of the world , but i would rather we could enjoy the last ride with as much fond memory as possible, spying on others , obsess about what others are doing or not is not the definition of fun for my taste … in the eyes of Zombies , everyone taste the same … so the threat of the zombies is more important for me, finding the next safe haven and setting up strong sanctuary against them is my main objective … just like my speech in the leadership voting , rebuilding humanity and help build a strong community is my main goal . I am not sending out anyone to infiltrate others just so i don’t want one of my own be influence by “others” when he/she is infiltrating other group … but i welcome anyone who want to infiltrate my group (perhaps even Rachel) , just so i want to influence them to convert into one of us by seeing how i could do things differently
My idea doesn’t necessary means we walk into every group with gun hold approach , more ever , i am more interested in establishing a utopia state of my own , than expanding my influence too fast … if we happen to meet up with a group , the first contact of course will be courteous in an attempt to establish good relationship , if they are hostile we just move along … if they happen to seek my path like the Silverthorne , again we need to access their approach to decide what we will do next …
My group name is "New Prophets " , so we walk the path of fate and destiny , we let them come to us not the other way around ,
Then we play dirty. We infiltrate the silverthornes hideout in full stealth ninja mode and plant multiple explosives(which might need some level of crafting) and then we call out to Keith and bring in Benton who we had held hostage. We tell his whole group of dbags to migrate to some other area or not cross us again or we will kill Benton. Now considering the top shelf douche that Keith is–he might say that the mc is free to kill Benton and if the mc does so then he might say that he will get back to them. In that case, the mc pulls out the detonator and says that if the silverthornes don’t comply then the mc will send the whole place blasting away. If keith still stands his ground then the mc pushes the button and…
One thing I want to throw in(a little late in the conversation, I admit) You are not really pressed into robbing neighbours, if you want to call scavenging that. At least in the 3 story home you kann first knock on the door to see if anyone is there.
So I see nothing wrong in going around the neighbourhood. Even in the boarded up home you can put the things you took from the makeshift camp back, after reading the kitchen zombies notes. To bad you can notretrieve the items, after realizing the guy is dead^^
I wasn’t suggesting we do that with every group because that would just be insane really and while I do advocate for a cautious approach when it comes to strangers, we couldn’t always afford to send a spy.
How did Rachel infiltrate the group? She had her own group and she was willing to make an alliance with ours because she saw our value she didn’t infiltrate the group. I’m not saying you said that she did I just don’t see how that applies to Rachel.
Why even give him a warning or ultimatum ? Just blow him and his hideout up make sure there aren’t any survivors and call it a day. I swear, people waste time monologuing and chastising the villain or their enemies when you could just kill them and be done with them. (Yes, I’m familiar with Nietzsche’s “He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster”) But damn, you don’t need to always preach about morality to your enemies. Or give them warning in this scenario. If I thought Keith had children in his base, then I wouldn’t advocate for this but he only wants people who can earn their keep so unless he plans on creating child soldiers I don’t see him having kids at his base.
Well, its kinda good to try and resolve things without voilence first. Since, past few weeks I’ve been playing an ambivalent MC in ZESH–ya’ know, who isn’t really bad but, not really good either. One of those grey characters. I say, we threaten Keith and see if he complies. If he doesn’t, well, we still have the detonator. Killing Keith would be a mercy or he will go crazy and become an official bandit with scars and tattoos and bullet belts, unlike a sauvely charming bastard he is now.
Even if he did comply what’s to prevent him from regrouping after you showed him mercy ? He’s already a bandit he’s just one that fancies himself a warlord and is methodical. He already thinned out the people he considers sheep in his own group, I doubt he would let being humiliated and having been at the mercy of his would be recruit or prey go.

There was rumour and suggestion that Rachel was sent by the government to form a surviving group, i am not sure whether it is the right word but some also suggest her action of joining to our “main” group is also an act of infiltration if she is not the leader … it is possible that she still report to a commanding officer, but this is still a speculation
Hence i am aiming to “convert” her loyalty and belief into mine , based on the actions and direction of my leadership …
In Silverworld , there was also a scene where the rival’s followers be allowed to join MC’s stronghold as “agents”, and with high charisma and influence , these agents had been converted to MC’s loyal followers… Hence , it is a possible scenario

I do not like Keith, but if he gets to be a RO I will try that path too. Just because I am quite curious^^. And to see how @JimD would make it special, after the Bankrobber/ Reilly romance I would try every male RO because it is always fun to read.

Tho tbh here Keith doesn’t strike me as the kinda man who would want his girlfriend to be his equal. More like for his girlfriend to look pretty and stay behind while he does his macho stuff. I imagine Mara and he would constantly fight.
My personal idea too. She will end killing him due he seem a cheater and a really bad bf material. I don’t like him. But Mara likes ruthless bad guys and there is none in the game except Keith. So I guess Mara has her needs but that relationship will be pure tnt lol worst bf material than Tom lol
