Schizophrenia is hereditary…
No its not. I have somewhat mild schitzophrenia and I looked this thing up before I even thought about having children. So you are wrong, bub.
There is a hereditary element to schizophrenia, but it’s more complicated than just that as the overwhelming majority of children born to schizophrenics are not schizophrenic. There are also schizophrenics born to families with no history of the disease. So environmental factors are thought to play a very strong role in the development of the disease as well. Unfortunately the relevant variables and their exact relationship to each other are very nebulous. There are a lot of guesses, but almost nothing is concrete.
@RRR,
You keep misspelling it.
Also other than you just drinking a lot, that explains the drinking, as the lifetime occurrence of substance abuse is almost 50% In Schizophrenic people.
Drinking? I don’t think I read a scene with the PC drinking. I might be mistaken, though.
Also, I am a schizophrenic too, nice to see others around here.
I get an error at the beginning just after you first encounter the zombie in the stair well. Idk why. I love mindy she’s cool.
@VoodooDolly you wake up at the beginning of the game with a hangover from a party Emma threw the night before, you & Tom also share a drink before the Fuel mission, you also load up the truck with supplies (including beer) when you are at the compound you also drink an imported beer while you’re searching the stockroom of the compound
I’m playing an alcoholic, yeah! Well, who wouldn’t drink with a Disney princess called Emma as a sister. She’s not annoying, but she’s certainly not that useful. And taking care of someone having a breakdown in mid zombie chaos is not a great thing. I can see it now. This family is fucked up, and it’s tearing itself apart. Someone do a The Room joke or I’ll lose my faith in humanity.
Regarding Cassie, she, or a ghostly little girl very much like her, has been seen by at least 4 different people at the Cathedral. They can’t all be schizophrenics with a very similar hallucination.
Cassie does seem to somehow moderate Emma’s illness however given the quiescent, almost drugged out, state she sends Emma into. And Emma’s schizophrenia meds apparently block Cassie out. So there’s a bit of conflicting evidence here. I suppose it’s possible that Emma’s meds are blocking more than just schizophrenia, but also her sensitivity to ghostly phenomena.
The Julia Collins explanation is a bit strange since it implies that either you were hallucinating at the time (and thus everything relating to Cassie is thus a hallucination) or that Cassie somehow fabricated the backpack with Julia’s name tag on it for you to find from ghostly ectoplasm or some such. Since she made pictures for you to look at in the catacombs of you and your sister’s childhood, I suppose, again, that it is possible.
Finally I will say that if Zombies exist in this world, why not ghosts too?
@JimD I’d have liked to have been able to ask Cassie to tell us something about herself, maybe ask if things were the same for her growing up as they were for our character and his sister, if she was buried in one of those small coffins, or if there was anything we could do for her to repay the kindness she has shown us.
- It’d be nice if there were a ton more opportunities and intermissions to improve both your characters and fellow survival characters’ stats as well as base stats and resources. It would also be comforting if u could more easily be well stated(meaning have all around high stats).
2.Maybe include more adventure and mini-episode like specials in each part, as to increase quantity of the game, where the character can go on special missions, dates with romance options, maybe also include some content that varies depending on the background you chose for your character, like how in the mass effect games there were side missions, that were different for each background, your character could do.
Perhaps you could add NPCs that has survived so far that our character would meet, save and/or add to your survivor group, while outside of the safe-house, Make it where there are a couple of options on what history the PC had with the NPCs. That should be availiable for all of these kinds of NPCs encounters, the ones that you can end up adding to your group I mean.( And depending on what these NPCs are, like soldier, scientist, construction person, ect… they could add a bonus to whatever safe house stat makes sense being boosted in their case, the PC could also boost the safe house’s stats as well like if was a soldier then each intermission where you have time to do something, the PC and NPCs automatically did something leaving, like it says *your name* finished daily training of all other survivors thus increasing group offense/defense or something like that, the PC to choose a different option/activity.) Make it where it depends on what our chosen background is; if:
-soldier for hire background; then the PC could encounter an/some old war buddy(s)/ex-comrade(s)/former brother/sister(s)-in-arms whatever you want to call it, that or a rival merc(s),possibly friendly rivalry.
- scientist background; then the PC could encounter another scientist that you worked with before the Zombie Apocalypse. If the PC ends up recruiting the scientist then that scientist would work on the zombie virus cure while you could do other things.
-professional athlete background; then the PC could encounter a former teammate or coach or rival athlete, ect…
And so forth for the rest of the backrounds. But I hope you get the general idea. I know that it would probly be ALOT OF WORK and stuff but I think that its a good idea/suggestion and would increase the depth, quantity, and possibly quality of this game. Oh and i think that you should base the zombieness of this game around the zombieness of the book,“The Zombie Survival Guide”, just a thought. But so far I think this game is AWESOME, I love games like this and the other COG games alot, but I find that sometimes these games lack a quantity of quality and are just too plain short, which irritates the shit out of me, and sometimes they lack quality and depth as well. When iam playin these games I sometimes get the feeling that the authors rush through them ,whether to finish faster or meet a deadline or whatever, from time to time which just tends to kinda ruin the games a tad bit. I think the authors should take the time to exploit the openings to expand the games and make varied game functions like romance options, kingdom customization, character customization and just go full out badass RPG. And when its really difficult to really max out your character’s stats or make them all really high and make it where your like a freaking god(not really god strong cuz that would make the game too easy but you know good at everthing). I find it more enjoyable if i can excel at the game. But i’ve typed enough and its my first comment on this site so plz bear with me and forgive me if i said something offensive or anything. But i just wanna say i love the game so far.
@VoodooDolly,
That was just something I was telling RRR about, it wasn’t meant as for the PC, it was for him having Somewhat Mild Schizophrenia.
@VoodooDolly: ZE, if Tommy Wiseau were writing it:
Emma: “I got the results of the test back - I definitely have zombieitis.”
[zombies are never mentioned again in the rest of the story]
And Carl would say: I did not hit him, it’s not true, I did not hit him, I did naaaaaaht.
Faith in humanity = Restored.
And any time you die:
“You are TERIN’ ME APAHT, zahmbeez!”
Hey, you asked for it. If you get a bad pun, it’s your own fault. :))
You know it’s always possible that Julia Colins was a red herring. After all the name hasn’t been mentioned since.
Oh, nevermind. I didn’t see the explanation for it. That one is rather weird.
@Shoelip Julia is mentioned during the conversation with Cassie. She was a childhood friend of Emma, according to Cassie.
All hallucinations, calling it right now.
Also, MOAR OFFTOPIC. I never wanted to offtopic, however, I cannot help it with this.
During your conversation with Carl about Tom: “He already put my ideas into practice. The cathedral saves money, and they are using me, and I am the fool.”
During your conversation with Tom before the oil mission: “Anyway, how’s your sex life?”
While you talk to Tom about Carl’s accusations: “Don’t touch me, motherfucker.”
Or: “You betrayed me! You’re not good. You, you’re just a chicken. Chip-chip-chip-chip-cheep-cheep.”
Every time someone mentions their past: “What a story, [insert character name]”
When Mindy discovers the PC with Heather (if you follow a relationship with both), the PC says: “Stop ganging up on me!”
Alternative game over screen: “Everybody betrayed me! I’m fed up with this world!”
Randoms “Oh, hi” the whole game, and do not forget the football throwing while others fight zombies.
Zombie Exodus: The Room. Coming soon to a theatre near you!
…Back on topic, please?
That mission was a bad trip, man. Baaaaaaddddd trip.
It felt like being in a horror book, my first play through i got the fuck outta there, thats who i am in real life anyways and i like making my character as close to being me as possible with these types of games, so yeah, I fuckin booked it… kinda wanna go hide there though, just go down there, tear some shit down, make a training room, to do intense shit or something, it‘d be awesome, and at some point someone follows you (most likely love interest) and kinda O.O at the place you‘ve made, but its just an idea XD
That was some Fucked Up shit man, in the end I let Emma keep her imaginary friend, don’t wanna screw her up worse than she already is.
