Zombie Exodus, going forward

Uncle Lou sorta reminds me of Coach from Left 4 Dead 2, who reminded me of Uncle Phil from that one show I’m sure nobody remembers. Certainly not the opening theme. :stuck_out_tongue:

So yeah, I kinda like Uncle Lou. Mindy’s cool, but there’s not a whole lot to her. At least it seems like it to me.

@revanrulesrussia yeah, I don’t consider either Carl or Jason a great catch for a girl. If a girl is hoping to survive the apocalypse however, her odds are better with Carl. I also consider Carl more useful to the group in general. Someone please correct me if I’ve missed something, but Jason’s skills don’t seem to have done much to enhance the group’s chances of survival.

@Lobo420 That possibility of Jason maybe being a stalker murderer has crossed my mind as well…

@Shoelip Carl was pushed to the breaking point by the situation, and then Jason shoved him over the edge. Unless someone is the sort to curl up in a ball and cry when they break, pretty much everybody (and that includes most men) will get violent when they snap, and it’s extremely dumb to push them toward that breaking point the way Jason did Carl. That doesn’t mean I’m excusing Carl entirely, but I completely trust Carl not to harm anyone who isn’t both sleeping with his girlfriend and stupid enough to drive in small verbal daggers on top.

@JimD I’m very fond of both Uncle Lou and Mindy. Not only are both useful, but they both have positive, helpful personalities. Neither do either of them ever cause issues for the group.

I am a-ok with Carl. He snapped and it was Jasons fault for that. If I was in Carls shoes, I would have just shot Jason. Plain and simple…

@JimD Uncle Lou is like everyones favorite Uncle, & i dont think anyone hates Mindy.
also like i said before if moral choices are going to be involved in the game, it should include violence toward people in the group, getting someone to cheat on thier partner, a romance with Emma (that is a very immoral choice), overthrowing Tom to take control of the group. things like that in my oppinion is a pretty good start.

@JimD I don’t really like Candace, she seems like the stupid cheerleader of the group which in my opinion is annoying and useless, mindy is ok, she doesn’t do anything wrong and Is helpful, with a good personality to boot, and I’m sorry but I LOVE uncle Lou he’s the type of guy you wanna high five every time you see him. I don’t trust Tom making him borderline neutral and hate, but everyone else seems to be about the same as you said

Right… The fact that Carl had been acting like a paranoid psycho for most of the time before hand was totally nothing to worry about. It was all just down to the fact that Jason said words, and suddenly Carl was no longer responsible for controlling his own body.

Oh yeah, and what exactly has Carl done since your mission to rescue him? Driven a boat?

Dude. If someone slept with my wife, I would throw him off a 50 story window (Comedian style) and then disown his corpse. Carl, Im sure, has contributed to the survival to the group, unlike Jason. He was watching a goddamn soap opera on his computer, for Gods sake. All he does is waste energy.

@Shoelip How has Carl been behaving like a psycho for most of the time before hand? I’ve seen no evidence of that. Paranoia? It’s not paranoia when something really is going on behind your back. As Carl tells you himself at one point if you bother to talk to him, Candace’s behavior towards him had changed when they were alone together, and she continually denied anything was wrong. Meanwhile there’s been something going on between she and Jason since before the Medicine Run mission as Mindy may accidentally let slip to you while you’re on that mission. So I’d say Carl had good reason to be concerned. She really was cheating on him, and it’s been going on for quite awhile now, as the Medicine Run was just the first of the big three missions in part 3. So he had good reason to be worried.

Regarding what Carl has done for the mission: First of all it was Carl who bought the Cathedral and made it available to everyone else with Tom’s assistance. Without Carl that place of shelter would never have been available. Jason is a guest on Carl’s property, as is everyone else. Secondly, Carl has repeatedly risked his life, from the very first day we’ve met him with the supply gathering trip at that farmhouse. And it didn’t stop there, he directly assists you in any engineering projects you undertake to increase supplies. And while all he does during the fuel run is pilot the boat, he did scout it out twice beforehand, and even entered it in an attempt to secure fuel, only to be driven away by zombies. There was certainly risk in those previous trips. While he may not be the great hero the player character is, Carl certainly seems to have risked himself more for the group than Jason. What has Jason done for the group aside from comfortably watching security monitors (which anybody can do) and passing along useless internet rumors?

@RRR agreed, I for one, absolutely hate Jason, the only reason why i intervene is for Uncle Lou

@TDOT I actually thought more people would intervene during the fight to garner favor with Uncle Lou than just to help Jason. It is funny you mention that.

@JimD You should put an option to allow you to help Carl kick Jasons ass.

@revanrulesrussia That would have dramatic consequences. You’d either be imprisoned or have to fight Uncle Lou and Tom most likely. I don’t think such a huge spin off is possible. Restraining Uncle Lou is basically a death sentence for Jason.

I have uploaded the latest Part 4 scene.
http://zombieexodus.com/zombieexodus/mygame/index.html

This is fairly short but answers questions on the little girl mystery. It is a stand-alone section, so restoring a saved game isn’t going to matter much.

You also may want to play it with a character with high intelligence or as a minister for some added details.

My gosh, was that freaky. I can’t really tell if that brought up more questions or answered them…

nice, i could just Imagine Cassie puffing her lips when she gets mad, cant wait to read all of chapter 4.

That was a creepy scene, but somehow I was driven to keep going no matter how much I wanted to stop.

@JimD Found an error after you tell her that you want to know the secret

“She pulls the pedestal which slides with ease over the stone floor. A wave of cold air and a smell of dust and rises rises from the ground.”

Other than the repeated word something else feels wrong with that second sentence. You might need to revise that.

@spyfox259 thanks I fixed the error.

@Shintaro @Lobo420 glad you enjoyed it

God, that was creepy as hell…

Cassie reminds me of Claudia, from The Vampire Chronicles, mostly because of her description.

So, correct me if I’m wrong, since I played the beta fast and carelessly due to time, but is she [Cassie] a ghost? I asked her, she answered no, but there’s no other reasonable explanation. Well, as reasonable as talking to a ghost can be. Are they both [Emma and the PC] insane? Or is Cassie an experiment of sorts made by the government? It’s always the big hats upstairs, after all, ha.

I did bet that she was a hallucination, however, how can the PC see her if she’s just part of Emma’s sickness? Is the PC riding on the insanity train too because of the situational stress? This is exciting! Madness for everyone is my bet, and I know it is more likely that I’m mistaken, but I cannot help going against the flow, ha-ha.

Remember, Emma has schitzophrenia…I cant say anymore or JimD will throw me 50 stories onto the street (Comedian style).

Aha @RRR I know what you mean
