Hey @everyone does the link on page 1 still the right one or has there been an update?
Thanks!
Update itās not to far above
@JimD I have to ask, did someone (in the case it was not you) really let Carl go, or did he escaped on his own? Itās a curiosity itch.
Also, when the characters say that ze cannot choose between Mindy and Heather, Mindy leaves but Heather stays as if nothing happened; the same scene happens again when the character tells Mindy that ze prefers Heather. I do not know if this was intentional, so I let you know.
The option to kill Carl is available or the event will happen later on? Because I did not got it.
I have a question regarding Starr and River: What happens to them if you do not accept them into the group?
It is interesting how your relationship starts with Tom; and it was a nice detail to only made it possible for characters without currect romances. However, I donāt believe him, I think he always saw the main character as a threat; but when you did not trust Carl enough to believe him, he realised he could have something with you. Hate sex, is what Iām saying, ha-ha.
About the available mission, I loved that the little girl recognises you thanks to your all star career if you choose athlete as your background. The end of the different paths to take always end, but Iām guessing it is because they are not complete; not because of glitches.
That is all, I really have nothing important to say other than: āNew beta chapter, yay!ā
@HeroMaster Thanks!
@JimD Just got finished playing through part 3 and tried the demo of part 4, and am very impressed! Part 4 has some mistakes (Iād have to pull it back up to give exact ones and am super tired at the moment) , but the story is looking VERY excellent.
A few questions I have are
When do you get options to kill people? Who can you kill? Other than Javier and Delvin/Eugeneā¦
Who all is romanceable? I know Heather and Mandy come off strong to male/female characters, but are any of the men romanceable in the group?
Iām kind of confused about some of the previous comments. Is somebody in the group against you? And what is up with Carl and Tom? Are they crazy or something lol?
Thanks for putting together this amazing story and I look forward to hearing your answers!
OMG in the middle of the choices between heather and mindy! SUCH A BAD MOMENT MINDY oh godā¦
Found a mistake, when your doin the dirty with heather (which not going to lie I enjoyed) the last sentence is āyour wrap your arms around herā first word is your
am i the only one who will replay the game from start when it is full released?
no you will not.
@Thatdudeoutthere @revanrulesrussia Iāll see if my artist can work on the images but I kind of like the fact that most NPCs are left to the readerās imagination.
@revanrulesrussia Uncle Lou is actually a pretty tough guy, so he will have some survivability.
@spike08 I think confronting Jason is a good way to resolve the scene. It wonāt be a mandatory meeting, just a selection like the other survivors.
@Shoelip Jason is most likely on the autism spectrum.
@VoodooDolly you can help Carl escape, or if your humanity is low, you can kill him.
If you donāt help River and Starr, they make an āappearanceā later.
Tom is a complicated character, and I enjoy making people wonder if he is a hero or villain.
I definitely wanted to add in some opportunities for professions to shine beyond Scientist and Soldier. In the scene with Hadley, athletes immediately befriend her. Everyone else has to work for it.
I havenāt finished the imprisoned or escape paths so yes, it is not a glitch, just unfinished.
@jammy 1. Options to kill appear if humanity is low.
2. So far, romance options are Heather, Mindy, and Tom.
3. At this stage of ZE, many people can be against you, most notably could be Tom.
What missions/scene would people like to see next for beta testing?
Return to Temperance with Mindy please.
2 3 and 1.
1
2 and 4 please :}
2 3 4 1
The problem with everyone being killable is that it makes later writing more complicated because characters who may not be around canāt do anything thatās vital or significant to the plot without a backup plan for if theyāre dead. It gets especially complicated when everyone aside from the main character may or may not be around. The more companion character fragmentation thatās possible, the more work it is for the author to keep the character interactions interesting and meaningful the deeper you get into the story. Other authors in this situation have tended to either collapse under the weight of trying to advance forward all possible previous decisions with the various possible companion characters causing game development to stall, or to cut corners on character interaction, making them two-dimensional and meaningless. Choice of Zombies suffers from the latter issue.
Were can I play the beta o and 4 and 2
@P_Tigras I agree with everything youāve said. However, I want to create enough variations in plot to make the game more dynamic than the traditional A + 3 choices leads to B + 3 choices leads to C + 3 choices, etc. It is a lot more work to add complexity, but I rather put in the effort and add freedom to the game. So far, the complexity hasnāt stalled development, and I have already planned sections for Devlin and Eugene, Starr and River, and Jason, even though they may not be in the story for some readers.
Luckily, Part 4 is the last, so I donāt have far to go to track all of these variables, though
Will we see Carl again?
