I’m fine with just scrolling down the forum. I love to see user-made games that aren’t done yet, so they’re not on the website yet,or promoting their own games. I’m not hating this forum, I just don’t stick around for much.
Also, when do you think the next part’ll be released and [POSSIBLE SPOILER] will you have a choice to run with Emma or stay at the Cathedral? Of course you could also burn the Cathedral to the ground, and then you’ll be forced to run. That’s a nicer course of action than choosing, personally.
Things with Emma evolve (or devolve) in the next Part. I plan to extend the Devlin part this Saturday then roll out the fuel mission in 3 weeks and the research mission in 6 weeks. Then I’ll tie up Part 3 before delving into Part 4.
The Cathedral will not be a safehouse in the traditional sense in Part 4. Based on humanity, certain choices for how to leave it will be available.
so i noticed not necessarily a spelling error but in this part
You return to the subway floor and take the M-16 and night vision goggles (NVGs), leaving the rest to keep your weight done. You head back to the center of the subway station.
you said to keep weight done. i think you mean weight down.
Oh. Also. Jim, please do me a favor. You can go to the Wall, and check for gear. NVG & M-16. Yay. Also, at the Subway car, you can get it. So. Give some other incentive?
Also!
WHAT DOES YOUR FAVORITE BOOK DO? I can’t find out what to do with it.
Inventory = Awesome. Really, I’m one of those kind of players that likes to look at everything, and so not being able to see what I was carrying bugged the hell out of me. I have some massive headaches right now, so I’ll really look at the content later (I did one play through yesterday I think, but I was so focused on what I was thinking about that I didn’t really absorb it).
There is one thing I would like to mention though: You seem to have trouble with the stats page. Everything else is awesome. Great story with engaging choices gives me a real sense of ‘shit is actually happening’. That just makes the stats page stick out all the more to me though. Sorry but this is going to turn into a list of complaints. (I swear, it’s only because I know you can do better!).
Health isn’t really descriptive as a number. I’m guessing that three hits will kill me from the number, but after I take a hit, just how damaged am I? A written bit of text might be better, such as: *if health = 3 You're in perfect health, and could easily take a couple of hits. *if health = 2 You're in decent health, and could probably take a another hit. *if health = 1 You're in bad health, and will probably die the next time you're hit.
The inventory could be a bit neater. Right now the dashed lines detract from the simplicity that makes ChoiceScript look so nice (IMO). I get that you want the it separated visually, but a simple double spacing does that good enough.
The current list system currently runs everything together. Capitalizing the first letter of each item would make them a little more distinct, or you could full separate them onto their own lines (but that seems a bit much without including a bit of a description for each.
@MrYoungzman the favorite book can be used as a bribe to get past the police when leaving the apartment building.
@Reaperoa thanks for the suggestions. I agree, the stat screen is a bit messy. I will work on the changes you suggest. I put the inventory piece together real fast, so I will also fix it up. Thanks again.
Okay, so will Devlin remember you? And if so, will he react depending on how you treated him (e.g.: refusing to try to convince them to him come on the boat with you)?
great game. i think you should add another romance because if someone does not like heather’s character they have another option , i mainly think it should be mindy as she is in alot of scenes.
@TheKid90 humanity has two functions: one it is a measure of how morally you played and secondly, it allows specific options depending on high or low scores. For example, if you have low humanity, options to steal or kill may appear where as high humanity may have certain strangers trusting you more.
@harveym66 I currently have plans for romance options with others coming up at the end of Part 3, both male and female cathedral members and new characters.
@everyone else: I should have the rest of the “Medicine Run” mission up tonight. I added a lot more elaborate options, including the option to kill Devlin for those who asked for it
I just don’t understand why people don’t like Devlin. I mean sure he’s a jerk, but he gave out the truth completely when asked. Also, he’s a pretty good fighter and is willing to forgive you if you were nice to him.
@JimD Not sure if its a known bug but… On one of the parts I got to it went a bit like this -
Text
Text repeated
Choices
Choices repeated
(I could of just said there was 2 of them both but… :P)
I can’t quite remember where it was but I know it wasn’t on the last or cathedral scenes… Well I know it wasn’t month 1 and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t cathedral. ^.^
Ah ok, awesome thanks Jim. I’m not asking this because yu have a lot on your plate, but im assuming tech is for situations like driving the tractor or improving the cathedral. Intellligence im not sure, becaue int. Related situations i’ve noticed depend also on you actually being a scientist.
But what I am interested in, whats the difference in the weapons? I haven’t found a situation where one gun works better than the other, just slight text changes (which is awesome that you include, good details and continuity)
And speaking of continuity, I played a girl and when Heather kissed me I thought you maybe made a mistake but in the next chapter we Emma questions you, instead of saying Uncle Lou is the only other person he can get with, she says Mindy if your a girl.
