I love this one. It would probably be the most difficult to execute out of all those in my opinion, and it would be a very, very unique concept.
9th Story idea
This story takes place in like any world in which any superhero would live, except it is without a hero, cops against either powerful underworld leaders or powered supervillains and you are on the losing side.
This one, as well, is very interesting. I’m a sucker for these types of games and would love a good underdog story.
I’m especially interested in the 2nd, 5th, and 6th story ideas!
This sounds like there’ll be a lot of complications if the MC’s cover is blown, which I think could be fun haha. Imagining all the times the MC has to give an excuse for being at the same location as the person they’re watching over, or fighting someone one room over while trying to have a conversation with that person sounds great
This idea sorta sounds like it’d have a philosophical feel to it like Creatures Such As We, and that’d be something I’m interested in as well~ Plus a world without plants or animals sounds terrible and I’d like to see how the world came to that and what people think of it!
I agree, i think that one would definitely be the hardest to pull off, but even if I might not get it right exactly i do want it to feel very different and have different choices and scenarios you probably wouldnt find in another slice of life. When i came up with it i kinda went crazy coming up with ideas haha, its such an unnexplored concept.
Im glad you found those two interesting, i definitely enjoy a good underdog story too but i actually dont know too many that could be considered it as major plot point, if you know of any feel free to let me know i always appreciate a good read.
Haha I was thinking of some funny scenerios like that too based on player choices, im not a fan of a story making the character devoted to certain stats and making them always have to choose the options that match otherwise they fail, so i will try to give some freedom at times while giving other choices you really should use your best stats for.
Oh i really enjoyed that when it came out, I’ll have to check it out again to make sure i dont copy things in any way and also just to enjoy it haha, and most of my story ideas are not a one part thing, it could possibly one story but i did come up with backstory for the world and this story specifically but the backstory you mentioned might not appear until later stories, still planning things. If you have any questions or other comments feel free to ask them whenever, im glad i caught your interest.
I havent heard of it but will definitely check it out, and im glad it caught your interest, if this story is picked it will tackle very sensitive scenes at time so if it ever feels worded wrong or the flow is off i would greatly appreciate any further input you or anyone else has
Yeah sadly it is common in most stories, makes me think of the old choose your own adventure games, they definitely weren’t as complex but the joys of them were that you could choose whatever choice you want and experience the whole thing without restriction, it can be a hassle to make a whole new character and mess up on one stat which prevents you from doing what you wanted to try, if you haven’t seen the first post for this i believe the second paragraph of the first medieval fantasy story of mine had a system im thinking of putting in place, any feedback on that would be greatly appreciated as well
Thats good, i enjoy them too but worry some people might be turned off by the idea of a series because so many get cut short when it just gets going you know.
“Former CIA agent Reese (Jim Caviezel) – now presumed dead – and billionaire software genius Finch (Michael Emerson) join forces as a vigilante crime-fighting team. Using Finch’s program, which employs pattern recognition to determine individuals who will soon be involved in violent crimes, they combine Reese’s covert-operations training and Finch’s money and cyberskills to stop crimes before they happen. Former Army Intelligence Support Activity operative Sameen Shaw joins the pair in their quest.”
They also essentially stalk the person to protect or stop them, the reason is they don’t know if the person they are watching is the victim or the perpetrator.
Oh wow, that does sound really interesting, i cant believe I’ve never heard anyone mention it before. But doesnt that say something about finch’s skill if he cant figure it out exactly XD maybe it makes more sense that way though, since in most stories they get that info so easily.
Interesting… I don’t think I’ve played an interactive novel with that setup, so I can’t say how well I think it’d work out once you implement it. Doesn’t hurt to try it out and see it in action first though!
Thanks for checking it out, yeah I hadn’t seen anything like it and thought it might be interesting to try, it will definitely take a lot of testing and balancing to get right though for sure. It will be something changed constantly during early demo updates so I might end up doing a demo version with the system and without so people can keep their progress/saves without changing everything, and for those interested in helping out.
What do you mean, i never said i wasnt making a game/story head tilt i said i needed help deciding on a story to start with because i have too many ideas and spread myself thin working on them all at the same time. I basically wanted to know what everyone would be interested in reading so i can focus. The story genre was already picked as slice of life but i will get to other stories as well later.
Also, I do have one story series in the slice of life genre that does take place in an asylum in a later book, the story is number 5 on post 43
hum…I was teasing you . But the Title does seem a bit misleading . Why? because ‘choose your own adventure’ games…while similar to choiceofgame , they aren’t the same . Heck you don’t even play them the same way .
The Title is from the Books ‘choose your own adventure’…so maybe you didn’t mean them . If that’s the case…I apologize .
No there’s no need to apologize, it was just a play on words, I was referencing the choose your own adventure books but meant it as you choosing your own adventure, your own story, you know?
And I totally agree that they play differently, and thats kinda what I’m going for, I love choice of games but as I have discussed with some others on this thread I do want these stories to have more freedom for the player. I find myself in these same situations with choice of games, I often dont deviate from my norm when replaying choice of games, I dont explore other paths because I am rewarded for playing one way or true to my stats, and will constantly restart my game just to fix those choices im not rewarded for, when in the end it doesnt change things or matter anyway, I dont even know if any of the choice of games I’ve played have alternate endings besides small things. I know doing a more complex stat system and alternate endings would take more time but I dont want to make a story I wouldnt enjoy. I’m not trying to bash anyones work or say that its flawed, I do enjoy these games/stories and want to see more from these world, I just want more from my stories, I’m that type who always thinks my work isn’t good enough, and I’ve gamed all my life and know what I like and dislike from video games.
All in all thats what i meant haha, I want to do something new while showing people the worlds I have created and they want. If you have any questions or other things to ask then by all means feel free to ask, dont worry about offending me or anything
