We are a team and would love for them to tag along, since everything would be better together. Supporting each other and sharing the pain. However, in the end, I would let them decide. Do you want to stay or do you want to come with me? I’ll support their decision and wish them the best no matter what.

Kai Chronicles is just a gamebook that I like, more like oldschool d&d, more adventure and it forces you to think, I don’t know the whole extent when it comes to replayability but you choose stats/powers, wepons and gear in generall, you have limited space in your backpack and depending on what you take with you/throw away you will be able to do and don’t do different things through out the story. It forces you to think some extra on what you’re doing, and has a typ of memo feature in order for the MC to write down and remember stuff that could be of use later in the story. Give it a try and say what you think! It’s not for everyone but i’m sure some will like it ^^

Seems like that would be more relevant to a thread about recommending other interactive fiction games! It sounds good and you should start a thread about it! I think the main point of this thread is representing the choice between safety and freedom for your family in IF games.

I prefer to bring them with me usually, being in a dangerous place is actually a good time to build trust and improve your relationship further and with 2 people instead of 1 your chances of surviving increase too.

I’d tell them the danger of the mission before they come, so they’d know exactly what we are going to do and become more prepared, and if they are scared and refuse to join it’s their choice (not everyone is good at fighting after all)
