Wraithbound is an weird west interactive fiction game, where you play as a person who has lost most, if not all, of their memories after some kind accident that left you half dead.
After waking up in the middle of the woods, you’re found by two people and taken to the town of San Arima to tend to your wounds. While you’re there, you slowly begin to piece together who you were and what happened to you.
Will you take your revenge and let the building hate in your chest consume you? Or will you learn to let go and keep moving for a different reason.

Potentially die. Don’t fear death. While it’s the end for most, it seems like the grim reaper just doesn’t want you.
Romance Options
The Doctor - Edward/Edith Hayes (m/f) is one of the two that found you in the woods when you first awoke. E is optimistic, kind-hearted, and a bit timid. They strive to see the best in people and help who they can, even if it causes them to ignore the signs of danger around them.
The Witch - Sloan Ash (m/f/x) is the other of the two that found you in the woods when you first woke up. Sloan puts on an air of confidence, sarcasm, with a touch flirtation. A person who doesn’t seem keen to stay in one place, yet seems to stay anyway.
The Deputy - Azael/Azura Herrera (m/f) is the deputy to the sheriff of San Arima, a man they were once proud to serve under. However the past couple years the sheriff has changed. Suspicious dealings and odd orders, something is going on that they are being kept out of and they will figure out what.
The Conman - Leonard/Lilith (m/f) is a relatively new addition to the town of San Arima. L is person who claims to be an “entrepreneur” who always ends up on the winning end of any endeavor they take, less so those they work with. They’ve said that this town is ripe with opportunity, for what isn’t exactly clear.
The Widow - Morgan Faulkner (m/f/x) is a magus-hunter, a type of bounty hunter that specializes in dealings with the supernatural. Roughly 3 years ago, they lost their partner and spouse with no word or warning. Now Morgan has found their way to San Arima and they seem to want you dead, claiming you’re just a monster wearing the face of the one they love.
Looks like you have some paragraphs repeating (When I selected downstream and after I choose to look at the bag, I believe). I also wasn’t sure if the repetitive paragraphs were intentional because MC’s broken memories, but just in case. Other than that, I’m interested to see where this goes. Your demo is short but I like where it is going so far! I’m into the weird west so I hope you go full send with this idea.
Its fairly short so theres not a lot to judge yet but the premise is interesting and i cant say i noticed any glaring mistakes. I’ll be keeping an eye on this for sure
big fan of westerns—and even more for anything weird west/gothic too! the genre is so malleable and I’m curious to see the progress of the world you’ve created and where this goes (will we be able to ride horses and/or customize our trusty steed?)
I’m not too squeamish with gore but as a visual reader, the passage about our wounds when we make up did make me flinch a bit. May I suggest a content note at the beginning of the chapter?
you will in fact be getting a horse at some point in the game! i also do plan on having some minor customization for your horse like picking a color and name for it.
also this is a good idea, i planned on adding one to the start of the game to just have general content warnings for the game but if it feels necessary i could definitely make them available at the start of each chapter with warnings specific to said chapter.
probably a big spoiler but id like to know anyways is mc actually the supposedly dead person or is it a myrmidon situation where youre someone else but have some implanted or inherited memories of the person whos fully dead?
definitely a big spoiler lol the mc is in fact the supposedly dead person. while the mc starts of with really no memories, the start to slowly remember bits and pieces as time goes on. what exactly happened to them and why they dont remember anything is also revealed over the course of the story
Such a great start, and I love me some good old western story.
So, how long did we lay on the ground that our knife is blunt and rusty? Our bag so broken and everything muddy. Years? Or was the knife already blunt to begin with? but seriously great work, I’m so intrigued and invested to know more. I’m looking forward to more
