Update time!

Thanks so much for your feedback and support everyone. Your kind words go a long way to keeping me motivated to do my best with this project.

I just uploaded a more or less finalized Chapter 1, incorporating most the feedback you’ve all provided. There are still a few things I may add down the road, but I think it’s time for me to focus on moving forward with Chapter 2 for the time being.

My hope is to have a super rough draft of Ch 2 up before my baby’s due (early September), but frankly I don’t know how likely that is. Though I work on this most days, it takes way longer than expected to write a chapter, but you never know! I’m getting faster all the time.

If that doesn’t work out, it’ll be a long while yet before you see any new content. I’m not planning on writing a whole lot with a newborn, I can tell you that much.

In the meantime, feel free to keep leaving feedback on Ch 1. I may not incorporate it for a while, but I keep notes on what I hope to update in the future.

My main priority right now has been surviving this pregnancy lol, so I will admit that progress has been slow. But it has been happening! I took a step back and did a lot of planning for the story as a whole, and I’ve started coding for chapter 2. Only 1,000 words so far but we’ll get there

Baby is coming really soon so I wanted to post one last update before then. I’ve made good progress coding Ch 2 but will not have anything I can share until I’ve adjusted to life with Kid #2, which will be some months at least.

Thanks for your patience and understanding everyone. I have a couple short stories scheduled to come out by the end of the year, so I won’t be a total ghost. If anyone would like to stay updated on those, the best way to do that is to sign up for my newsletter.

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas/Happy New Year/Happy Holidays!

Thank you for your patience with my slow progress. I’m happy to announce that pregnancy brain has cleared up and baby is sleeping better so I officially have the time and brain space to keep working on The Iron King’s Heir.

It’ll be some time yet before Chapter 2 is ready for a general release but I’ve coded the skeleton and have begun fleshing it out.

I’ve also set up a Patreon for those who are really impatient to get started playing Chapter 2, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend joining just yet. So far about all you can do is choose your hair colour and weapon. I’ve mostly set up the Patreon for my own benefit to get used to how it works and get in the habit of updating there.

But hey, if you want to join up I’m not going to stop you.

Annnnnnd I finally have new content for you! I just added ~2k words to the public demo, and all of the first rough draft of Chapter 2 is now available for Patreon supporters.

In keeping with CoG’s legal guidelines, I’ll be posting updates publicly about a month after posting them to Patreon, so expect a whole bunch of new updates over the coming month until all of Chapter 2 is freely available.

Speaking of Patreon, I’ve been posting regular progress reports there for anyone who wants to keep up to date on everything IKH. Most posts are partially available to free members and start with a bit of a TLDR so even if you don’t want to become a paid member it’s a good place to stay in the know.

I like what you have so far. One thing I noticed at the beginning of Chapter 2, “prince” is used instead of princess even though that is what I’m playing as. Otherwise, I didn’t see anything else.
