[WiP] The Golden Eagle

Meh, if we needed to have a noble, upper-crust “escort” there then please give me cute theater guy.

Ugh, “can romance Cazarosta”, that was a particularly mean one.
Fortunately there’s a super cute and awesome elf now, unfortunately the setting’s view on that kind of relationship…

Because propaganda. Obviously.

Montignerac holds a tradition of always having the Duc title, no matter the gender of who holds it. It’s ancient custom that is allowed to carry over to new generations despite the empire switching over to Absolute primogeniture in succession laws.
There’s also a bit of a difference in rank of the titles, and the fact that Duc de Montignerac is inherited from the times before the Empire ruled over that particular land, while de Louvais is a very Imperial title.

But that’s deeper lore that isn’t explored in the story.

They even make you work at night? How barbaric. My MC is forever going to hold a grudge against whatever faceless bureaucrat prevented him from attending.

If there had been a way to reschedule or otherwise weasel out of whatever propaganda dog and pony show was scheduled for that evening I’d have jumped on it in a heartbeat. :pouting_cat:

Very interesting. If the duc is female and the duc’s spouse is male, what would the duc’s spouse then be called?

Reyer is the best girl of this game, she is badass, a powerful noble and have a keen mind. It is a shame we can’t dance with her and not romance her.

But Marianne is good too, I want to know if she would follow the MC back to the Empire and how she would adjust to a new way of life.

I’m feeling she would adjust just fine.

What if we introduce the gatling gun? Would it merit a promotion?

And I think it’s probably a nice metal or citation or possibly the ability to use that said Gatling gun later and whatever Revolt were involved in. Back to the Legion of Honor how long do the periods of time have to be between earning them what acts qualify for it obviously the first one yet very very well then maybe things like probably like treaties and the tactics bigger scale than is required to go up to higher chain of award. Self Commodore Grant you land and title what does the highest tier Grand you?

Just saw this for the first time:

Apparently one of the oldest sitting congressmen had filibustered for a record ten hours.

10 hours is a record? They haven’t seen anything yet…

Strom Thurmond it. Do it.

I play Daniel Inouye!

Well, that would depend. There’s a few options, one would be to very simply add “Consort” to the title and call it a day, but that tends to imply a kind of junior position in the household. Another choice would be to use a courtesy title such as Seigneur de Montignerac instead, or if the husband has a title of their own refer to him with that.

Perhaps down the line when or if it becomes more widely accepted as a weapon, but not immediately.

The wait gaps are: five years, eight years, ten years. That’s the minimum times for a promotion to the next tier under normal circumstances. The reasons for receiving it vary from gallantry on the battlefield, excellence in command, serving Imperial interests to a very high degree, performing a great personal task for the Emperor, that kind of stuff. In general, it’s a military award over a civilian award, and the battlefield is the place to get it.
When or if you are promoted up to Commandant, you gain a title of nobility to go with it (with an option to refuse) as well as the standard state allowance. Land is involved if you’re very lucky, since there’s only so much land to give out. The steps after that involve increasing state allowance and perhaps even an upgrade to the title of nobility, but most of all the higher tiers grant you a great deal of prestige. After all, each tier is a more and more exclusive club, and the Grand Aigle is possessed at most by only two dozen people.

I keep finding this error at the beginning of chapter 1

And this one at stats

You’ll have to refresh the page. It’s because of a recent update, and I suspect you still have the old version cached.

This is one thing that always little bug in a little bit. And you can decide how you want to balance that. It always came off frustrating weird that you cannot have multiple correspondents in the game when they give it option because I figured you should be able to wite to multiple people. I remember back when I was in the military when if I was overseas or about going to bootcamp when you have no life I was able to write three to four letters day. I feel like the main character can hold multiple correspondence. I personally didn’t feel like a dick move I just can’t write now everybody :frowning: but if you think about it the more people is overpowering that I saved it on the Charisma status as the sensitivity for the ability to write and the other one to be intelligence for organizing letters. Do if you have high in both you can write 3 two 4 letters.
So is the Marshal of X still the highest military honor in the nation.

I say give the mc the opportunity to write two letters, one to an RO and one to either the count or your family. One business and one pleasure correspondence seems reasonable, particularly given the likely cost of postage from the Beadran Free State.

The letter to de Reyer seems like a waste of an opportunity since no variables get set or incremented. The game doesn’t even remember that you did it. The other choices all have some sort of an effect, and two result in replies within the same chapter.

I adore Marianne as well, but she is very different from Reyer. Raised in a more traditional culture, and blocked from any sort of official power, she’s learned to use her feminity as a tool to get what she wants by wrapping others, especially men, around her little finger. She’s like a kitten to Reyer’s lioness.

As for whether or not Marianne would follow the MC back to the empire, I strongly suspect she’d be eager to do so as the MC’s bride. I think it’s pretty clear that the empire fascinates her. As for how she’d adjust, I believe she’d greatly enjoy the greater freedoms women have there even as she misses her father terribly, assuming she fails to convince him to join her and the MC.
