So in the final room, it wouldn’t let you leave even if you typed, “leave” in the text box if I’m understanding you right. I’ll go ahead and test it on my end if that’s the case and see if I can recreate it.
@GregMarks Hey there, just wondering if you were typing it with a capital “L” or a lowercase “l” to try and leave the room? I had forgotten to change it so it works for both for that particular room (this is what happens when you have a single unorganized dev trying to update a game instead of a team of them I guess). But it should work for both now.
I just read through most paths of this WIP and was crying for at least half of it. 10/10 would have my heart ripped out again
Also it is truly a war crime that I can only check on one of them after the funeral because I just cannot leave Samuel alone in that state but I want to help Carter too. Smh
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you all so much for clicking on that demo link 10k times. Genuinely, it’s insane to me that anyone would want to interact with something I made that much, along with the original post for this having almost 800 likes. That’s just… insane to me. Super thankful for all the support you guys give to my work. This is a you guys appreciation post. Life throws twists and turns at us in every direction. It’s part of what this story is about. I know when this is finished, it’ll be something I’m proud of, and hopefully something you all can be proud to show people and enjoy as well.
Still working hard on the next update, which is going to have the final part of chapter 4 and at least part of chapter 4.5 in it. So until then, as always, stay brilliant!
Hey all, so, I’m making more changes to the Patreon. I know I just made some not too long ago, but these are, once again, gonna consolidate things down into less tiers, so youll be getting more for less! As of today, the Special Agent tier will be gone.
Note: If you are subscribed to the Special Agent Tier after today, PLEASE reduce it to Agent tier because Patreon WILL NOT CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. You will be paying 5 extra dollars for the same amount of content you would otherwise be getting.
This means all recordings, art, extra stories, etc. will be accessible through the $5 Agent Tier.
There are also a few additions coming to the tier. Such things include audio readings of The Bureau, and other WiP’s and games by other authors as well. On top of that, I was having trouble coming up with non-canon stories regarding the MCT and The Bureau, so now, you’ll be getting short stories featuring original characters in different worlds and settings! The first character is one that I hold close to my heart; Buck Marcellis. A hundred-year-old vampire CEO, and a character I originally made for a Vampire: The Masquerade game.
Note: I have expressly asked PERMISSION to be able to do the audio book type readings of other author’s work. I’ve reached out to a few of them and they have given me said permission to do it! If you wish to do something similar for anything more than just a personal project, do not do so without clear consent from the original authors!
That about does it for this post though. For those of you here, and those of you that may join due to these changes, thank you for sticking with me and supporting my work. It means a lot. Until next time.
Unfortunately, yes. I think it had about 10k clicks when that happened as well. I could be fibbing about that though. It was a long time ago, so I don’t really remember.
For those of you who are wondering what kind of extra scenes are going to be added into the next update, well… here’s one that a lot of you will be very excited for, I think!
I recently did an update on my Tumblr where you can read more in depth about it, but basically I’m going to attempt to keep a Patreon schedule of releasing new content every Tuesday and Thursday! To be completely transparent, my work schedule at the moment looks like this:
Monday - Work on Game
Tuesday - Work on Patreon
Wednesday - Work on Game
Thursday - Work on Patreon
Friday - Work on Game
That’s essentially my work week. So, needless to say, there’s going to be a lot more Patreon content coming out over the next few months. Everything is on the $5 Tier now, although you can still support with the $3 Tier if you like and get access to some of the stuff still. As always, no pressure to sign up for it. It’s all extra content, and there will be no exclusive early release of demo updates because I want everyone to be able to talk about the game all at the same time when the updates drop. A single, big community with this game. Thank you guys for continuing to support me as always!
Continuing on with the weekly updates, you can read the finer detail on the Tumblr post here or on my Patreon, where this stuff will be going up, but the shortened version is; by the end of the week I’ll probably be a good 35k words into the chapter at the very least. On top of that, a NEW AU RIVALS TO LOVERS STORY FEATURING AURTHUR/ELIZABETH HAWKS will be going up on the Patreon next week, as will an INTERVIEW WITH BARB, THE AUTHOR OF “BLOOD MOON” AND “THICKER THAN”! I’m sure she’s going to have a slew of interesting things to say, so be sure to tune into that! Once again, read more about that on the Tumblr post I linked above. Thanks all for your continued support, and I hope these weekly updates aren’t obtrusive in any way.
EDIT: The extra story is finished and it is about 4.2k words. Really liked being able to delve into a different world/scenario with monsters and arcanum and other things. And yes, while it doesn’t get explicit, it does get a bit spicy at the end. Very much looking forward to people’s thoughts on it! Look for it next week on the Patreon!
Just wanted to say that the new short stories are up on the Patreon! They’re rivals to lover/rivals with benefits, depending on what you head-canon happening after the story, and yes, they have a bit of spice at the end of them. It’s definitely a good indication of what you can expect from the tory itself; a couple pages of descriptive text on what happens immediately before the strictly explicit parts. So, all you Team Leader Hawks fans, jump on it! It’s definitely a story you won’t want to miss!
Okay all, I know, I am extremely active here and it’s not always for an update now. I guess, tell me to shut up on this page if you only want to see notifications about updates or something. BUT I do have a very important question.
So, I released the extra story with the Rivals to Lovers trope for Hawks. I embarrassingly am coming up short on a list of tropes to focus AU’s around. So I was wondering, what are some of your guys’ favorite tropes? Looking at a list my readers provide will help me decide which one sounds right, and I figured this was the best place to go to ask for the time being. So, hit me with it. Favorite romance tropes/coupling tropes. Go!
Agreed about you posting here for any old thing, feedback/update related or not.
A bit long, but here's a few of the requested ideas/suggestions.
As for tropes… Not sure if this really counts, but what if S, after deciding they feel really safe around, and with MC decides they want to do the typical “first date” of something entertaining, like a movie (not so sure they’d want to do the “beach visit” variation), along with a candlelit dinner? Just to try it out. Yes, they did ask MC to go on a date with them.
Unexpected things are good, too. What is one activity some of the ROs would do that is maybe outside the norm? Or if non-applicable, make it something sweet, which could also be unexpected, but in a different way. Thinking about K, would they do something like sweet like visit a care home to entertain the old folks for a day (to treat them like real people for a change, and not like they’re burdens), or would that be ‘too close to home’ for them emotionally?
MCs who choose to romance Agent Lance have to realize at some point that, because Lance is a parent, Scarlet is a package deal if things get more serious. A “family event” is a good way to get a feel for those bonds of trust, and acceptance. You can decide the ‘location’ of course, but that’s another idea for the bucket, should you choose to accept it.
You just put something out for Hawks, but ‘the unexpected’ could apply to them, too. It’s easy for readers to forget that they were rather wild up until that time they met Lance. So a story where they can show how things were (with a bit more responsibility, of course) could probably be a fun ride. It’d probably take place much later in-universe, though, since the reason they should feel comfortable showing that side is because they’re in a better place, and not likely to be ‘angry’ about anything. Not just ‘self control’ but at peace with themself.
