(WIP) Just Kiss Me Updated: 04/19/2025 (290k words)

First time playing this because well I’m lucky enough the post of this game is at the top. I can say this is pretty tasty teen drama coming of age for the first chapter. Thank you and stay healthy

Who knew listening to Frank Ocean and Omar Apollo while reading would fit so snugly into the vibe of a CoG…I learn something new every day. Anyway…

Good IF!

Not here for the game, just wanted to help with your problem. I looked at your code and noticed the potential cause of it.

In the stats file, there is a line that reads:

*if meetsawyer = false
    *set sawyer "unknown"
    *set sawyertext ""

What I found is if you open the stats page at some point before the
'set meetsawyer = true line comes, the name will be set to “unknown” due to the code above. If you don’t open it at all, everything is fine. This is likely the cause of the problem.

Hope it helps.

Hello !

I’m really enjoying the game! I hope you keep your good work!

Below it’s my contribution regarding pronoun errors. I can’t add images :frowning: so I copied the text. I hope it is clear.

The errors I noticied are of Alistair. It should be he/him/his.

Summary

When you choose to meet Garret with Alistair

Alistair chews his bottom lip. We lock eyes for a few moments, and then he sighs and looks away.

Garrett looks between the two of us. He then sighs himself.

“Okay. I shouldn’t have said that. It was out of line,” Garrett says. “I’m sorry.”

Alistair nods. “I am sorry as well.”

Wow, I think to myself. She actually apologized.

Summary

This is the scene of kissing in front of Garret and Lisa.

Alistair looks over at me. After studying her expression for a few moments, it’s clear to me that her angry facade is actually hiding some level of discomfort. Maybe she doesn’t feel comfortable switching in front of them?

I hope it helps! And I wish you the best!

Very nice update especially with the clubs. However it would be nice if we were able to play in multiple positions in the soccer club. Being goalkeeper is nice but sometimes i want to run past people and score goals like messi

i dont tend to post, like, ever, but i genuinely love this concept SO MUCH.
i love bodyswaps and i love the characters and i cannot emphasize how much i love the fact you can play an apathetic character without that ruining the story <3
im not sure how hard it would be to program, but i think it would be nice if you were able to wear the opposite gendered uniform. but its not game breaking if you dont add it, just a thing that would be cute i think
anyways, good luck, and i hope u keep updating!! bc as ive already said i love this story a lot <3<3<#

Hey! Thanks so much for your post.

I don’t think it should be too hard to let the PC wear the opposite gender uniform! I will try to implement that in the next update.

I am pleased to hear that you had a good experience playing an apathetic character. I have tried to play stoic characters in other games, but found that the game rewarded the PC more for being friendly or that it was harder to pursue a relationship with someone, so I wanted to make it so that the PC could be any character type while still forming a relationship with an RO (friendly or romantic). So I’m stoked to hear your experience was good!

Really liked what I read, but would you consider making a Tumblr blog for the game? It’s just so much easier keeping up with games on one platform, and it also allows for phone notifications for those that want to know whenever you post something about the game. It’s also much easier for people to ask questions, and a lot of people follow IFs on Tumblr but don’t use the forum for whatever reason. So making the account might also just get more eyes on your project.

I was so excited when I saw the update! Loved the insight into MCs part-time job and club - especially the former letting us decide who stumbles on MC working. Between the amount of customization for the MCs personality, what flavor romance we want, the likeable cast and school mystery, I think this may very well become one of my favorite IFs

I have definitely thought about making one! I am not the best at updating super frequently, so I wasn’t sure if making a Tumblr would be worthwhile if I wasn’t maintaining it super well. But I also think it could be a great idea! I’ll definitely think more about it.

Well, people will more than likely send in asks and other questions. Might be interesting for you to engage with, even if you aren’t actively sharing updates all the times. I know a lot of authors really enjoy interacting with their players on their blogs, even if they’re just talking about the game and their characters without really sharing any concrete news.
