Mechanically, it’s not a wise decision, but I think that’s kind of the point; Dime is stuck in a situation where practically everything they do is for the sake of their mission from who they interact with to what they do in their ‘free time’ (i.e. either increasing their stats or investigating Mal and Dion) with very few opportunities to do for themselves. From a narrative standpoint, this is one of the few options Dime has that’s completely independent of the mission or the coven or any other objective.
Personally I pass on it (because A. I think the idea of Dime slowly breaking down as time goes on is the right kind of tragic, and B. I need a knowledge stat boost), but in the long term, I also think it’ll be part of a longer process that’ll improve Dime’s mental state and well-being for if (big if) they make it out of this no-win situation alive

I know I asked this before, but replaying to see new stuff and I still don’t understand how I’m not getting ‘still enough left in the tank’ when going to fight Surpass after the zone.
No injuries, plenty of juice, beat Vantage, I don’t see how I’m overextending or getting injured.
Re-Edit: I read the code wrong- The entire issue I was having is because helping Ghoul via the ‘power interaction option’ is somehow extremely exhausting when I thought it wouldn’t be since you don’t really do anything yourself. It sets the variable to 5 which was the entire reason I kept getting blocked as poutcome has to be below 3.
Okay, I’m gonna come out and say it, don’t judge me lol but is there gonna be some Stockholm Syndrome type shit with Catalyst down the line or no? Lmao
I’m using the term very lightly, but I meant is there a way for Catalyst and our MC to somehow end up with some type of “positive” relationship (despite their very not positive relationship atm). Doesn’t necessarily have to be “romance” but that was what I was initially thinking about lol
Now I’m not exactly the target audience for it, I didn’t see the vision of the ParaCat ship, but I think I’m starting to see why things are tense between those two.
Now that you mention it, would he even survive that? how durable is he? How durable is Dime? Questions for later.
This might be just me since it’s been a while since I’ve fully read the early parts of the game and there might be a story/character reason for it but why does standing up to Catalyst when you’re feeding The Project only check for guts and not hand to hand fighting as well?
I noticed when you choose the simple “just kick their ass” options against both Ranger and Cannibal the game checks for both guts and hand to hand so I was wondering why this was an expection.
If this is just me missing a tell about the choice being a guts only check (like how the guts check choice in the Vantage fight clues you in with it saying you’ll use brute force) then my bad but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway
