I really enjoyed coming back to this WIP today! The escalating tension has me hooked and I am really excited to see how everything shakes out. That said, I did notice some opportunities to provide what I hope is helpful feedback.

The first sentence of the third-to-last paragraph below does not make sense (“Libra, Cee watches, then slowly lowers her fists…”). I would simply remove either “Libra” or “Cee”. At this point, the reader knows that Libra and Cee are the same character. The reminder is unnecessary and wrecks the flow of the sentence.

The choice below felt a little weird. Cee is the MC’s mentor and had no trouble ordering me around before. It was surprising, and felt out of character, for her to immediately defer to the MC in this instance.

At the very least, I would appreciate an added option to shrug and throw the question back at her. Something along the lines of: “Idk, you’re supposed to be my handler/mentor/etc”.

Secondly, that’s normal, right? Cee is just a woman who was “ordered” to train you, she is not your master, she herself knows how to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of fighting with you, you just try there but the decision is still in Cee

The worst part was that I hadn’t understood what she meant in this scene, it was only when I came to this forum that I understood that she was trans (I wonder what their reaction would have been if the MC had looked at them with a face of confusion and said "I didn’t understand, tostesterone wasn’t a hormone? Is this a new disease?)

I am having mixed feelings of being able to drop CG so easily the first time. Think I rather she run away. Even if I don’t want to help Coven. I also don’t want Businessmen to have her. Though, I am certain she is fine due to Airy being there.

With this post on the whole, try not to focus too hard on the MMA math of things. By which I mean, it’s not necessarily a direct scale of “A can beat B and B can beat C, therefore A beats C”.

The Businessmen got rocked by the Patrol because it was their normal goons against three WPP heroes. CG really wasn’t ready to fight Dime, and so in certain choices she’s caught off guard.

CG’s powers do kind of good against Rocket, but she was more evading Rocket/Spring Breaker than beating them outright. So yeah, I wouldn’t take individual encounters as full power scaling.

I have to say, you handle lying very nice. A bit of truth, a bit of omitting, a bit of misdirection, and a lot of annoyed confidence, it really doesn’t read as a lie, it really looks like someone who’s annoyed at being late and having to waste time talking to a doorman nobody.

mal’s kind of a freak in some ways but even they’re not forward enough to suggest wild kinks in a one night stand.

I might need to take another pass at the other thing. CG isn’t deferring per se, she’s sort of going “well well, this is a situation we’ve found ourselves in”.

One Year of the Juice

So, it’s about a year ago I first posted the WIP of Drink Your Villain Juice! January 1st, 2024 to be exact. Started working on it a couple months before that.

It’s been a blast, and an amazing learning experience, and completely exceeded my expectations as to the reception. Like, as a writer, you want people to like your work, but I’ve never had this many people enjoying something I’ve made before. It’s incredibly motivating and gratifying and numerous other ‘ing’ words. In particular, it’s a little crazy to me sometimes seeing how many replies this thread has

Anyhow, I’m committed to this project. I’m pumped about writing more of the game and sharing the story with all of you. Maybe even get the whole thing finished! We’ll see.
