Another reason for the inclusion of the dating/crush options was that I saw a unique opportunity to include a sort of compressed feelings arc, whether that’s unrequired pining or a dramatic last second confession. It’s part of what made chapter 2 such a beast to write and code, but I had fun with it.

I’m glad the customisation was to your liking, and mystery pasta was one of those moments that seemed to come out of nowhere but seemed to fit just perfectly.

Was going through the code to read some of the differences in a couple things, everything about nickname_salt is very funny, even better since it is a perfectly acceptable nickname for me, just not one I use, so I very easily could’ve naturally stumbled upon being bullied out of my nickname. Also I find it funny how I managed to perfectly avoid every single instance of acknowledging my character is trans.

nickname_salt is so niche (to the point I put in Elizabeth as a name option just to make it easier to find), but makes me laugh every time I write it.

I’d like to include more content around being trans, especially because iirc everything except initially saying you’re trans is based around interacting with specific characters and taking specific options. That’ll come later though.

Is this Gender Locked? Cause it automatically assumes i am a Girl without giving me an option to choose.

Could you describe a bit more about where you encountered this? Gender selection is in chapter two (the flashback) along with the other character customisation, and there shouldn’t be anything about your gender earlier on.

It’s possible I left an errant pronoun or there’s a code loop which accidentally skipped it.

Probably a really dumb question but if you pick something like nodes as your best technique can you learn stuff like the wild mutation later ?

Not a dumb question at all!

The speciality is innate to your powers, so it won’t be possible to develop the other two later down the line.

That said, power wielders have more scope to creatively use and tweak the base powers, which is the crucial advantage of that style.

My MC had to commit the most heinous of crimes because it was in character to do so. He avoided, and ran away from the mystery pasta like the paranoid little turd he is.

A good start to a very good story. I like that the disgust toward MC’s powers can be mutual between MC, and the other characters who witness them in action. Node barfing is officially my MC’s canon, if only for Surpass’s reaction to it.

I just gave it a second go and I love that the plot plays out a little differently based on what you do during the attack. I chose Grant as my BF this time and tried to save him. I noticed it gave a little more insight in the Beth escape than it did when I first played. And ofc since I was dating Grant I chose to be understanding this time vs angry lol. I wonder if we’ll see them again? If so, woo, that’s going to be interesting, especially if the new team was there to witness the exchange.

Also that ending is still, AUuGhh lol, I want to know who the flip that was lol.

Lastly, the expressive MC is Hilarious. I love playing reserved in all my games, usually, but you made me enjoy the silly blunt MC the most. His dynamic with the group is going to be a hoot.

Pretty confident we well. If I recall and read everything right, Beth did something against us at some point after they escaped. Learned from having been girlfriends with her and being still raw; it gets vaguely hinted at, I think.

I think I hit a bug: I picked nodes, and after reabsorbing them, the game gave me text that seemed to be a similar sequence for some other power (mutations would be my guess).

Yeah there are a whole bunch of different versions of that section, including a couple of very niche interactions depending on certain combos of relationships.

Thanks! I love writing dialogue, and while I don’t think I could manage a more involved personality system (and it took me a while to hit on expressive-reserved), it feels natural to write around now.
