I began working on Curse of the Spirit around April 2017. Despite re-reading, editing, and changing major storylines and plot, I don’t feel like I’m ready to publish it. But I’m forcing myself to. This is my first game using Choicescript, and also the first book I’ve ever written using my own original characters and story. There are a lot of religious and fantasy/“magic” undertones, but it’s set in present America.
There are currently 6 chapters with around 30,000-ish words, I think.
What were once petty arguments between Virtue Spirits and Chaos Spirits have developed into full-on fights. In the midst of rising tensions in the Spirit Realm, you, a popular student at Larunda Academy and connection between Spirit Realm and Earthly Realm, have suddenly been stripped of all memories. As you redevelop yourself as a leader of the academy, remaking friends and enemies, you must also attempt to tame the imminent war between Virtue and Chaos. Help lead both realms towards or away from destruction.
In Curse of the Spirit, you’re able to play as a male, female, or nonbinary. Anyone can romance anyone, there are no restrictions.
You’re able to follow a “good” path (virtue) or an “evil” path (chaos) while playing as Divine. These will affect how The Six feel about you. And depending on The Six’s view of you, your powers can be grown. The Divine powers include: Wisdom, Guidance, Lies, Strength, and Speed.
There’s lots of lore and world-building, including books, letters, and notes that you can collect along the way.
(I plan on adding sketches of each character at some point.)
(will add more)
This is mostly just something I’m doing to keep myself busy. I’m not taking it that seriously. :’^) It will probably completely rewritten when I’m done with it.
