Hey, thanks for the heads up! It will be fixed shortly.
I thought I already replied to this, but apparently not; sorry for that.
I’m glad you had fun with the update, I definitely did while I was writing it. I don’t really like heavy stat checks in games or in IFs, so I figured I would give the players the option to play without having to worry about stats and just have fun with the narrative. Plus, I already have some ideas to make cheat mode more than just a stat boost - my first experiments are the new (Cheat) options, but I will consider making some scenes play out differently if you have cheats or not (just for fun if nothing else).
It’s not B in the garden; he’s in the stable scene (while their physical descriptions might be similar, the councilor is much less violent and is always polite, plus the councilor has bright yellow eyes, and B has deep blue ones.
Regarding Nemio, I don’t want to say too much because that would be spoilers, but Nemio doesn’t really dislike the MC. He sees it as his duty and obligation to protect them, and he thinks that because of this, he needs to keep a certain distance from the MC. However, one thing is clear: he swore an oath and will stay loyal no matter what.
I’m glad you liked it, if you have any suggestions or ideas don’t hesitate to share them with me. I’m always eager to make this more enjoyable for the majority and I already have a long list of ideas snatched from player feedback, so what’s a few more? About the poly(s): I’m already considering adding more poly options besides Renna and Elaine, so they are coming. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
Hi author, the update was fantastic I was just wondering can we expect fighting or training Arc scenes in future, you don’t have to answer if it’s too spoilery…
Ahh if author already have concept done why not just roll with it first and see how it goes, if I remember right this also how Soulstone war series go, originally only 1 Poly available and then it goes from there with editing, surprisingly this also how Zombie Exodus series go, adding more over time on top already established route.
Hey, I’m glad that you enjoyed the update! As for your question, let’s just say there’s definitely some action on the horizon. Without giving too much away, I can tell you that the chapter I’m most excited to write is quite close.
Of course, I want to ensure that the polys make sense within the story’s context. As I mentioned in an earlier post, some characters might not be the best fit together due to their personalities or relationships with each other, so I’ll be mindful of that when considering poly options.
Good work with the update! It’s a very enjoyable read and it was great to meet some of the other RO’s.
As for suggestions I may have, I thought it could be possible to flesh out the trauma aspect a little more. What I mean is perhaps something just after the ch.2 timeskip checking if the reader wants to tweak their personality bars. E.g. perhaps you have shifted to be more introverted in the 3 years.
I thought it could be a neat touch, though I haven’t written a choice script novel before so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.
Also, I did a bit of codediving and am thoroughly impressed with how many variations there are to the dialogue. Well done! I also found many of the personality changes are ±1/2%. I’m not sure how to word this properly, but in most cases, 1 and 2 are too small for fairmath to change the personality bars. I think it’s why in other books I’ve codedived, 3-5% are usually the minimum.
This is something that is very minor though, and I think it would be quite a bit of work to amend for the past 2.5 chapters. I don’t think it would be worth the effort to fix at least right now, but it is something to keep in mind for future work.
Speaking of the ROs…is that it? Really? Because I hope there’s a good “alone forever” route if so. I know you say the romance is not mandatory, but romances often bring more content. (And I hate “you’ve known each other since childhood!” routes, which it seems, all of these are, if MC’s going to still have growing up to do.)
I mean, you’ve only met three so far, and two of them were more just introductions than anything else. Writing romance might not be my strong suit, but I’m always working on improving.
According to my current plans, there will be five ROs (with the potential for one more to be added): Elaine, Barnabas, Zenon, Iris, and Renna. You can find short descriptions of each under the ‘ROs’ tab. There is, of course, an alone path as romance is not the main focus of the story (but it’s still significant).
Regarding the ‘known since childhood’ trope, I feel that’s mainly a thing with Zenon. Your first meetings with Barnabas and Iris were just that – first meetings. And as for Elaine and Renna, they aren’t even aware of the MC’s existence yet.
We’re still in the early stages of the story, and the characters don’t reveal everything about themselves in the first conversation. Each RO has their own unique story and dynamic with the MC, which will unfold gradually throughout the game. So, there will be more content with them, but the book is nowhere near completion.
This was the last major (so no more skipping three years) timeskip in Book One, so there won’t be any more ‘growing up’ phases for the MC.
That’s a great suggestion! I already thought of adding something like this before, but for some reason, I haven’t done that for part 1.
I still need to go through the whole text because of the pronoun issues, so I think I can increase those numbers along the way. Thanks for checking out the game and for giving me some great suggestions!
Both of you go to the tippy top of this form where the Arthur posted the link for the demo and under it the Tumblr link and you see a folder waiting on it the ros
At the end of Book One, the MC should be around 17-18 years old (according to my current plans).
Yes, it is out; the demo should end right after the MC’s birthday party. I played through the game again to check, and I could reach Chapter 2 without any difficulty. Can you tell me what the last scene was before the game ended for you?
