Clearly everyone has different ideas of Janus’ levels of power; some have the idea they are human like and others the idea they are way beyond mortal comprehension and mortal limits. This has been brought up ad nauseam for every fable.
I am interested in seeing what the author decides regarding the Janus problem. A rework? A replacement? There are not too many Roman deities that do not have Greek counterparts, which I believe is what the author wants, Janus is probably the ‘biggest’ one. Hoping that whatever happens, it’ll be related to knowledge/strategy.
I hope that Janus stick around. Just as with Vampire Bloodline, it is good to have One or Two path that play completely different from the others. And consider the limit of Janus, Author clearly thinking carefully about his power. He has the most constrains: Can only see 3 objects at the same time, require line of sight, weak against overwhelming opponent like Charles - he is the only one that clearly will lose against Charles , and Broken mind. I am looking forward on how Janus can grow, but it is more than likely that Janus path would be a self-sacrificing ending.
Your previous comment stated that no one in court knew who Janus was but the story itself proves you wrong.
Nowhere in Janus’s origin does it say how long they worked as a judge or a dog of the empire and going by how long all of the fables have lived it could have been more than one average human lifetime all we know is even the common people knew who Janus was.
Your free to think that but science proves habits developed in childhood stick with us into adulthood and sometimes stay with us for life.
That’s a weird analogy are you really comparing eating dirt with being able to see into the future?
also if you were eating dirt i would question whether or not you had more serious issues.
That was never my point I think we may have gotten our wires crossed here my point was I don’t see how or why Janus would change how they were using their powers up until that point not that he should be able to use them continuously but at this point we’re just talking in circles so i suggest we end this before the mods decide to step in slow the thread again.
JJK writer excel in this types of conundrum. They treat themselves not as a writer that could rewrite the situation if they felt trap, but as a tool for the story to progress naturally. This angered a lot of fans, but honestly it’s your story what could they do.
At some point, no matter what you do someone, somehow, is going to be unreasonably pissed off about it. That’s the unfortunate consequence of creation. Sometimes it’s justified, but the sheer amount of vitriol is impressive.
