Why are we able to flag our own posts?

I understand a community system of peer-driven flagging, but why are we given the option to flag our own posts when we could just delete them?

Because making us not able to flag our own posts would require extra programming, and it would be a near-useless feature so it’s just not worth it.

That’s pretty much exactly what I figured too.

Basically…an apt way to put it, nicely put Crotale, I personally only flagged once, (myself) to be sure I got the mods attention for one of my threads to be closed. Other than that…yea…

If it’s really a concern, you can take it to the Discourse forums directly. We just use the system here, not create it.
