Shoot, I meant to put that under a spoiler. I’d definitely regard him as a villain though, even without context from the DLC. Major Inquisition spoilers ahead

Fen’Harel decides to give an incredibly powerful object to the game’s main antagonist so that he can essentially commit Thedosian Genocide to revive his people, even if everyone dying and losing their homes isn’t his main goal. Personally, that puts him in my favorite category of the most interesting kind of villain. He’s completely blind to anything but his own ambitions.

Hmm going to have to replay the game I’ve got most of the DLC but not played any of it.

Should I count the narrator from the Stanley Parable? His role fluctuates so wildly depending on which path you’re on it’s difficult to tell. But it’s that fluctuation that I like most. Sometimes he’s the unbeatable, nearly cosmic horror figure toying with you for his own amusement. Sometimes he’s a partner, sometimes willing sometimes not. And sometimes he’s just as much a victim as you are. An odd choice as far as villains go I think but I’ll stick with this one.

Tywin Lannister from Game of Thrones (specifically the TV version). He’s cruel, petty and sometimes hypocritical but he’s so charismatic, efficient and competent that people (in-universe at least) will put up with him because they: A. Know they cannot beat him at his game or B. Understand that having him in charge would be best for the realm because he’s just so good at his job.

Beatrice from the Umineko no Naku Koro ni visual novel (or manga) because she’s the kind of villain who is also simultaneously the protagonist (at least in spirit). As a villain she’s delightfully psychotic, deceitful and enigmatic (and has the most magnificent cackle). As a “protagonist”, her character development is basically the entire plot and you are never sure what her game is until it’s too late.

DC: Joker
Marvel: Bullseye

Assasins: Miguel Bain
57 Passanger: Charles Rane
Sherlock: Jim Moriarty

Does Severus Snape count? IDK why but I swear tGBe first time I read Harry Potter I always hadvthis thought inbmy head that he was cool and going to come around for sure. Then yeah my present-self just held him as my favorite character.

Mycroft Holmes is, in fact, not a bad guy at all. In BBC version his character was about the end justify all the means and sentiment is not an advantage which makes him come out as a shady character sometimes. Later the series show us how he desperately tried to shut others out while caring them by what he analysed as the best approach.

Marvel: Ultron (from movie)
Visual novel: Reinhard (Dies Irae)
DC: Reverse Flash

I think Ruby from Supernatural series and Podigral of Hero rise series are my favourite villains

Ruby emerges as a Demoness who kills other demons in order to help Sam winchester , it is always great to have an Evil by your side who kills other Evils, i was really attracted to Ruby and hope there will be happy ending for her , since her characters has so much potential just like Podigral and Oriana of Heart of the House

Podigral , of course the legendary villainess who was willing to kill everyone else but the MC she hates to love , still wishing i could save her in an alternate universe

Monokuma (Danganronpa) I don’t know if Nagito and Kokichi count but I love them too.

Anime I would say light yagami , book it’s a novel called daoist gu or reverend insanity it’s main character fang yuan , off our war maniac from hellsing who wins it all in the end , movies thanos and joker duh.

Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, I enjoy that he doesn’t morally agonize over his decisions. His motives lack hypocrisy and he doesn’t fit into the childish binary notion of good/evil.

I also love Michael Myers for being just a fucking force of nature.

Legends version of General Grievous from Star Wars.
Ridley from Metroid (I have a thing for skinny bois don’t judge me).
Rhea and Edelgard from FE: Three Houses.
Probably some other honorable mentions I’ll edit in later lol

His Majesty Doctor Victor von Doom!

Doom is such a great character. I’m really, really hopeful that with Disney buying Fox we will see a good film portrayal.

Just watched Mulan, because nostalgia. The villian there is quite awesome.

BUT the Joker, always

I’m going to hit you all with Lord Vetinari from Sir Terry Pratchett novels! Hope at least someone will understand

I’d call him the good guy to be honest :stuck_out_tongue: For the Discworld baddies, I’d rather go with Trymon.

There had been an unseen observer of all this. It was of course entirely against the rules, but Trymon knew all about rules and had always considered they were for making, not obeying.

Does monpress count? He is barely even an anti hero, beyond being a thief he does nothing really bad.
