That and Monsters were the first WIPs I ever played, and the fact that they were both abandoned made me never check out any WIPS other than sequels to finished games or games made by established authors.

Someone mentioned it way earlier in this thread, but it’s such a shame the author of “The Price of Freedom: Innocence Lost” was never able to get their story published here, so there’s only a somewhat short demo.

Oh, that one’s sooo good! What happened to it tho? :disappointed_relieved:

Warriors: A Darkness Within WIP (2019)

Based off of the Warriors Series (Clans of Cats)

I offer myself up to continue the work, if that’s allowed. :3

It’s a childhood favorite and I have several hundred pages of notes and stories already

FWIW CoG would never publish that, unless you could somehow license the IP. Would have to be an inspired-by-but-legally-completely-different work about feral cat politics.

(TBC I completely support legally distinct cat melodrama, I adored those books as a kid, just reminding folks that CoG is a business that doesn’t want to be sued by HarperCollins lol.)

I was wondering what exactly would entail following the legal aspect. It’s definitely food for thought! Hopefully the vision I’ve already written is a stark enough contrast that little to none would need to be changed. I’ve written up quite the fanfiction with the Universe of Warriors as a solid foundation. I’ve been entertaining the what ifs and opinionated topics of the continuation and implementation and from what I have gathered after scouring over a decade worth of posts and discussions throughout the web and reviews on the books, adding a diverse lore pool of animals to the table is something I think would be viable, becoming more or less it’s own entity. Definitely the rough draft with a lot more to consider but I’ve a start and I’m confident something can be done with this!

Now to find out just how exactly I can take away and implement without crossing the lines :slightly_smiling_face:‍:arrow_up_down:

Hey, fanfiction-to-independent work has a long and proud history, that’s how Fifty Shades of Grey became a thing. No shame in retooling an old fic.

I believe the author had previously published a shorter version of the game on a different site and, thanks to said sites shitty policies, basically gave up the rights to the game after doing so and thus couldn’t publish on CoG.

Anybody have news bout this following wips? Cuz its driving me insaneeee :weary::sob::weary::sob::weary:

Rippers Plague

Corruptant: Shattered Mind

Fell Star

Not quite. There was confusion over the IP rights… but the other site didn’t have shitty policies so much as confusing ones. By the time the site clarified that it was happy for PoF to be published elsewhere, the relationship between HG and the author was broken, and the author didn’t want her work to be published here any more. :frowning:

I see, thanks for the clarification. That’s still quite a shame, the story seemed great.

The Exile

This is easily my favourite read, even better than most finished works in my opinion. I think the author said something along the lines of they were re-writing it which I found a little disappointing since I thought it was damn near perfect.

Also Forsaken

It felt awesome to run around as a John Constantine-type character with an already established reputation among powerful people.

The exile is not dead at all. The author decided to put it on another platform and rewrite some things (chapter one is finished)

Ah, my mistake. I knew I read somewhere about it being rewritten but didn’t know it was already being released. I’ll have to check it out!

I also checked out Bathalafiction’s tumblr after falling in love with the Forsaken WIP, and it’s basically finished, only the updates haven’t been uploaded to Dashingdon due to technical issues. Plus, the author is working on the Demon: Recollect rewrite!

Hope this info helps
