"Werewolves 3: Evolution's End"—The ultimate battle of humans vs. werewolves!

Have finished my first full playthrough of Book 3 (male MC).

Negatives - Not many (thankfully!). Still don’t know if Maker was responsible for the feral plague in Books 2-3 (perhaps I’ll get an answer if my MC visits Maker more often at her lab?). And whilst Dena, my RO, is getting more assertive in the lovemaking scenes, she is swearing too much - which feels wrong for her character, from my perspective (I don’t like swearing, as it is). Also, I don’t recall meeting Razor in Book 3. Is she away from the main pack?

Positives - Anna reappears! One of my favourite characters. I got two lovemaking scenes with my RO (hopefully in Book 4, there’ll be the chance for my MC and RO to have intimate time whilst both wearing fur). And my choices resulted in two villains getting their (satisfying) due comeuppance, without any of my allies dying. I had hoped that Lapu would kill a certain character, which didn’t happen. I’ll see if that can happen, in future playthroughs.

Generally, I’m pleased with ‘Werewolves 3’. It felt longer and more immersive than previous entries in the series - though it took a long time for a certain pair of characters to actually die. I’m eager to see if the surviving werewolves can now team up with the WRN group - potentially with Anna and some others wondering if they can be turned into werewolves themselves?

Thanks for writing, Mr Dean!

PS: Are you still able to review my Parliament Of Knives fanfiction story, please?

(Correction: WRN - Werewolf Rights Now - group. Not HRN)

I will know quickly if Maker was behind it. By being mostly not trying to kill anyone, people still die. Williams kills Maker whom tries to control me. Her fault, she shouldn’t of said that in front of allies/famenemies.

Dena was a top in book one with me the one time. However, Dena kept making me feel wrongly. So I dejected her. Bly definitely does not cause that issue. Can’t zero down so can’t say much for B2 and 3 Dena route.

After all the murdering, bloody guts everywhere, the many betrayals. All the various trauma being inflected upin her. I am surprised she didn’t start cursing long before B3.

@GreekWinter saw ur comment on reddit quoting

“Pregnancies (aside from Winter) will be available in book 4’s epilogue for all ROs and genders of MC that have baby making parts compatible with their RO.”

Might be stretching it here but could Inferi and Augury also be added to that list?
Super important detail that might be incorporated is that they be mentioned alongside MCs that are romancing (dena and tiva) / (bly and tiva) like fivesome :crossed_fingers::writing_hand:t5:

Just a thought for us reader enthusiasts catching feelings while messing around with Augury and inferi.

Dena and Tiva? Cool! I haven’t seen them together though. I am pretty certain Tiva is with, uh, forgot his name, traitor feral boyo.

I try to ignore that last part. It bothers me a bit that we can mingle.

The activists activated is working with the human pro werewolf group via Anna.

The other ones not sure but if has anything to do with specific groups, its working with said group or none. Science is working with science, possibly using the DNA alt bombs or whatever.

“Turning haters into what they hate, doesn’t stop their hate. Nor changing them from one thing into another does not end hate. Maker, Boss and Dad! Should know that you three so called know it alls.”

Werewolves 2 introduced many meaty new characters, settings and elements. Werewolves 3 has a recycled setting and characters that don’t resolve their arcs so much as break down and expire, although this fits with the general themes of mental degradation and a dying people, which could be likened to the smothering of the natural world by human society. If a villain is to be more a character than an obstacle, they can most readily resolve their arcs by clearly recognising the evil of their path, and either turning from it, or refusing to. Sonoma and Maker never seemed to even conceive that they might be mistaken, but at least Williams was unmistakably challenging with the truth by his own child, making his subsequent redemption or damnation considerably more meaningful.

(To be fair, returning to the Nail allows for disturbing flashbacks, and the pursued wolves have run through a lot of different settings. There are more disturbing dreams than coming to terms with past trauma, as Tiva especially will have to do in the end, but that isn’t exactly a quick job)

Although the setup for a destroy all the black sites quest in book 4 is a bit of a pat way to give the wolves that concrete goal to resolve their situation that they’ve so sorely lacked (which doesn’t really develop from the main action of book 3, in which Anna’s father isn’t even involved) an ending is what any story needs. While its a little frustration that the third book in a (not) trilogy, with ‘ends’ in the title, ended in more of a haphazard meeting engagement than the purposed ‘ultimate battle’ implied by the blurb, a bloody, chaotic smash-up with mutant Nazis isn’t inappropriate for werewolves. I’m not sure that enough has been set up with the FBI or Maker’s father to do much with these new elements in a single book, and the final battle of Pack Mentality had much more meaning behind it, the final showdown is still to come.

In the end, the volume of drek these characters have endured over three books, and the vitality they’ve retained, have been stand-out. When Ahote in particularly gives up the ghost I will be rather sorry. If 3 wasn’t as great as 2, Pack Mentality was excellent, and it’s the final quadrilogy that should really be assessed in its finished form.

And whilst Dena, my RO, is getting more assertive in the lovemaking scenes, she is swearing too much - which feels wrong for her character, from my perspective (I don’t like swearing, as it is).

Dena seems to have a slightly different personality having sex, possibly moreso as a female, which is believable.

Hey folks! I promise to get back to you on here about specific questions and comments, I’ve just had an extremely busy last few weeks. Canada Post (where I work) just dealt with a very difficult strike action, and a family member has gotten very sick as well as all the usual holiday business.

I just wanted to pop in and let you know I’m not ignoring you, and I’ll be more attentive in the new year. Hope everyone’s well.

How to sleep with Sonoma in book 3?

You have sleep with Sonoma in book 2 and in book 3 she will ask you to sleep with her

It did work in book 2 but not book 3. Are there some important choices to make?

You don’t automatically sleep with her, just get propositioned.

Off the top of my head, sleep with her in B2 and have tortured the captive HSM members to death.

Was there any new RO introduced in this book. I thought I read that in some post but can’t find it.

Winter, sort of?

Update: I replayed the game. I don’t know how I missed this, but it says that I went to the facility with Dena in Chapter one of the first game. However, that’s not true. I took the serum that playthrough. I think it’s because I had it cured in the second book.

I believe it was a reference to Robert Sheridan, the antagonistic host of the interview the protagonist and Ahote talked to during their outreach. If you can remember the chapter/book you saw it I can check back to make sure.

Razor is elsewhere at the moment. I’m using her in an upcoming novella on my Patreon that deals with Haken’s story from between books 1 and 3.

Dena’s been going through a lot of stress and changes to their character. (Trashing Maker’s research, for example, is something book 1 Dena would never have done.) The occasional swearing was intended to reflect that, but I’ll try to tone it down in the next book.

This.

You’ll like that Anna is a major character in book 4, then! She’ll be around for most of the game.

I don’t plan to at the moment, but they can certainly be part of the player’s epilogue. Inferi and Augury are each other’s primaries, and I’m not sure how they would feel about a pregnancy. I’ll have to think about that one.

Maker, yeah. I just can’t see her having issues with self doubt. But Sonoma? She’s floundering in self doubt the whole book 3, and it just gets harder for her if she survives into book 4.

Anna’s father will be a character you can meet and interact with in book 4 and Anna herself features quite heavily. Book 4 will absolutely be the final book for this MC’s story. Whether or not I revisit the setting is up in the air, but this story will be complete after book 4.

Thank you! Things are going a bit better now and I have more time to devote to replying. Appreciate your patience!

Science Prevails: Go with Maker to her ending in Werewolves 2.
Forgiveness is Divine: Make sure that Lapu survives all encounters. I believe you have to personally take him with you out of the lab for that to trigger and forgive him.
Blood Calls to Blood: Help Williams survive the lab encounter and live at the end of the game.

Is that in book 1 with the hidden join Williams ending? I’ve been struggling with that damn bug for ages. That entire ending has some rough coding that I wish I’d done better.

I’m honestly not sure yet. I’ll definitely allow another fling at the very least.

Rost might show up. I meant for him to be in book 3 as well but never figured out a way to get him in there.

The MC will be the ‘unofficial’ packleader in book 4. I say unofficial since there hasn’t been an official vote like the process in book 1.

I’ll look into this one. Thanks for the report! I think you’ve hit the nail on the head for why it says this, because being cured flips the variable.
