Clan and Lu’shun. And…idk. i’m going to try to work them in, but atm it’s on the back-burner of things i need to sort for WWU3 DX There is an instance if you are dating Kess when you can end up on a date with her to see a show in Lu’shun…and you can know whats happening. But thats about it atm. Thats not to say there won’t be a use for them at some point in the game…my brain just hasn’t spit it out for me yet. XD
Posing as an upper-class twit (relative of one of the invited guests, preferably one who regrettably couldn’t make it themselves. ) Would give my mc a chance to dress-up, assuming he can borrow or acquire the appropriately nice outfit from somewhere. Of course if we’re friends with Sem they might be able to take us, since Sem is quite upper-class already.
Would appeal to my mc anyway, since he was apparently quite the talented actor for his age in the first game and he’s got no affiliations with the school newspaper.
Only if we’re with Sem and it’s the Clan embassy, as I remember the mc’s and Jun’s parents in this cycle are (relatively) poor nobodies who presumably would never be invited to a swanky party like that.
I’m shocked no one has mentioned food delivery. Does no one working at the embassy order in while they’re pulling long hours?
Edit: I have no idea how I typed industry instead of embassy, and also no idea how it took so long for me to spot the mistake. Anyway.
that…i might pocket that for later. thats brilliant.
Hopefully this is the right thread for this, apologies if not.
Is there some sort of achievement guide or tips or something? I picked up WW1 and WW2 the other day, and I’ve been enjoying them immensely. I’m trying to clear out all achievements in both, but I’ve been stumped by a couple in particular. I’ve played through WW1 probably a dozen times time trying various different combinations to unlock them and have had no luck.
Birth tongue Advantage and Smarty Pants are the achievements in question.
Birth tongue you need to be from Arliam and manage to overhear the conversation at the embassy if you skip the orientation to hang out with Semryu. And Smarty Pants you need to live through everything at the end and have a high enough Ulic to pass your finals by a higher margin, typically >=40.
Could have sworn I had tried the Arliam origin, guess not Will do so next play through.
Thanks so much! Can’t wait for WW3!
Well let’s just say that food delivery errand-boy is the one job my mc would rather not do. He’d pose as the janitor (or preferably security guard) before he poses as the food delivery boy. Besides his first instinct would still be to forge a cover story that would maybe allow him to dress-up and preferably really enjoy the swanky party for once, instead of being bossed around by everybody there.
Still the main problem is that the mc here is simply too young for a lot of disguises and cover stories to be plausible and thus work. While we don’t know tar citadel’s labour laws ours don’t allow minors to cater the night shifts and don’t allow anybody below 16 to even handle alcohol, let alone consume the stuff (not that those are always obeyed in practice, but there you have it).
Spoiled-brat “nephews” of distinguished guests can plausibly be of any age though and if the mc can get there at all the odd 15-17 year old must be allowed to attend in practice, if not in legal theory.
Good lord, how did I not think of the pizza guy routine???
Of course you’d either need money to buy food or have a moderate amount of Rhean to lift some, then maybe some Bree/Beleskie/Montage combo to correctly bluff someone’s name or office number (??).
Low-Rhean MC: Hello, hey, hi, I’m here to deliver food.
Tarka’besh: You’re delivering…cheetos.
“You can feel Sem facepalming from across the city.”
[later]
MC: wELP I tried guys, but the Embassy’s security is top notch!
That delivery person would be popular at any campus during cram week.
Cheetos, dew, and ramean packs I’m good to go for a late night cram back when I was in school.
Didn’t even cook the ramean just punched it repeatedly on the table tossed in the seasonings maybe a touch of garlic powder on the side and shoveled it dry. (Not everyone liked that method)
But the Cheetos and dew work in a pinch.
Pizza delivery boy/girl would be fun.
Every now and again, a character surprises even me with what comes out of them:
"That is clever, if you can pull it off," Semryu admits when you go to talk with him. "Or you could have let me do since I go in and out all the time, but--"
"Sem, for Spirit's sake I need you to get the Middle Lands stuff from Crispin and Ives without them getting suspicious. That's far harder than poking about an embassy with food I borrowed form the dining floor," you retort, crossing your arms. "So, are you going to help, or--?"
"Fine, fine." Scribbling away on a spare paper, he says, "You want to say you're delivering general food for a meeting going on-- and then give this name as the one who authorized it. They have dozens of meetings and this man is in charge of organizing them all but his assistants are the ones who actually make the food orders but sign his name. So, no one will question it or check. Guards will inspect the food, so be ready for that-- make sure its on a plate and nice-- ask the cooks here ahead of time for a 'study platter' and they'll make one up for you no questions asked. Once you're in, make for the lounge area and leave the food there. Oh, and don't wear your uniform, even if the pants are just sticking out under your coat, they will notice."
"Wow, you certainly had aspects of this planned out before," you say with mild surprise as you take the paper.
He grins mischievously. "I'm from the land of Rhean, ${name}, it's what we do."
Nice, but my mc would still prefer it his/my way as it is an excuse to borrow an outfit, dress-up fancy and display his acting chops.
Security would still be my second choice, but sadly I don’t see a way for my young, young mc to pull that off convincingly, no matter how talented an actor he might be.
yr idea is good, but it’d require more details with a party and so on, which honestly is just too complicated for something thats not a ‘big’ part of the story line. XD But i’ll keep the idea handy for other places if i need it
Aww…so food delivery it is to be then, my most detested job, poor mc. Hope the food delivery uniforms are not as bad as they are on some of your American TV shows.
naw, you’ll be fine. and there’s other thigns the MC can do to get in lol
Ooh…disguise ourselves as Sem, maybe? Now, that would require quite the bit of acting and make-up skills (I’m assuming the guards have nifty ways to spot magical disguises here).
well, the other option is if semryu was arrested to say you are his replacement. so not as him, but his old job lol
Aww…sigh,…my mc here does have a flair for the theatrical and that does seem too kind of well…normal.
Still whatever works, at least Sem didn’t used to be the food delivery boy. Still, his reaction to a us managing a good likeness and impersonation of him would have been fun to see.
Good idea! I like that one!
