Way Walkers: University3--suggestions and feedback

@ArtMindSound – that’s not something we’ll be able to expand upon too much more in WW:U3 simply because A- there’s already so much trying to get done, and B- Tar’citadel is far, far less burdened by cultural issues than in other parts of the Continenet. However, it is the plan to expand on such things if i can get some other CoGs written, though only time shall tell on that. In the meanwhile though, if u haven’t already picked up Tangled Paths give it a shot, as there’s a much larger "Walkers World tour’ in that series, and you’ll be able to see a lot more of that nitty-gritty between races.

I made that statement because I’m pretty sure when I asked “even red” when discussing with a teacher they said yes.

Ah I think I understand. Montage followers accept that even parts of the Reds teaching are worth accepting as parts of their philosophy. The Red, however would not make this claim of Montage lol. They are more opposite than angani and I he red, but no two ways are fully the polar opposite of another.

Hmm I wonder if there will be a mention to an adorable recently wedded couple in the next installation  and it turns out that this couple are actually the creators of this world/ they’re avatars.

I’m giving you your next book :stuck_out_tongue:

@WayWalkerLeigh I played the first two games and they were amazing…so when do we expect to see the third one in stores?

First rule of the forums: don’t ask authors how long til something comes out. ;p

If you’re really desperate for more way walkers, go pick up way walkers: tangled paths on amazon.

Methinks the Waywalker’s verse needs comics (with lots of cute guys, of course).

As a huge, huge hugeeeee fan of this series, I can think of lots of things I want added/included in the game, though whether they make any sense in your story or you feel like adding them is entirely up to you of course ^^

Sorry in advance if anyone already mentioned these…

  1. I recall you saying that we won’t be able to actually become ‘Red’ or join them, but as CLOSE as you could get to this as possible would be appreciated. If there’s ever an evil option in a story, I always make sure to do a playthrough of it, ehehe. I just adore villains and evil and whatnot, but heroes can be interesting too. Anyway, basically what I mean is, as much depth and flexibility / choices as you can give the morality scope of the story, particularly in reference to the Red, would be awesome.

  2. I don’t think we can become Clansmen in WW (can they turn people, I don’t remember, its 2:30am and I’m braindead), but if we can interact more deeply with them it’d be nice. So far Semryu is the only Clansman we know or have met, right? (aside from that one arena fighter)

  3. More choice/flexibility of spells, their ‘types’ and how to employ them creatively in situations, since we’re above just novice Waywalkers now, so we should have access to better spells and more effective ways of using them.

  4. More of a suggestion, really. When running ‘checks’, run it against two or three stats instead of just one. Increases our odds of success in reference to variation, but maybe make the checks higher so not to decrease the difficulty itself?

  5. Romance, epicly so, though people already said this. Heck I wouldn’t even mind porno-grade stuff but I know that’s not gonna happen, bwahaha. Just more ‘romance’ scenes and flexibility. Same with battle/fighting.

Also if we do die and come back… I really wish we got to choose the trait we lose in so I don’t have to keep restarting if its one I really need or want to keep high on.

Clan can turn HUMANS but they don’t live as long as natural clans members (well unless they are magically immortal too)

I know it’s a little late but it would be interesting to see the MC start a romance with miles or continue to elborate on the amazing romace choices that we have so far. I was a little disappointed to be unable to date Jun though I was looking forward to see how that would turn out…

Also It would be great to see more club activities especially those who play a musical instrument or are in the dueling club for those of us who are in the dueling club would love to see more spells and techniques

Hey I was hoping you can make it were i could follow the path of the red and maybe meet the red dragon oh and I was wondering what happens if you get your evil path to 100? Evil RULES oh and I know its a bit late for this but can you make it were we can be other speices too not just human like a tuiza watcher or clan

I am half expecting us to be a reincarnation of our strongest skill

Maybe we’re like see and some weird third thing that is so rare no one knows it exists

Can we also redeem ourselves to Ay’cura and be a jerk to Jun.

I don’t think we’re going to end up as the Incarnation of one of the Children, but I can see us being an Old Soul at least.

Could we be an reincarnation of the red dragon. I just think that would be cool and just see how our friends and enemies would react would be interesting to me.

You can’t be an reincarnation of the red because he was thrown into the pit by one of the 12.

@TheLittleElf
The thing about Sem is that his main appeal isn’t that he’s Red, but rather that he’s witty and charming. In general I think that most people who like Sem don’t think that he’s very Red, which is why I assumed that I would get some aggressive responses when I argued the opposite. Then again, I assume that I’m going to get an aggressive response to anything I say.

That’s probably why I talked about support, I didn’t really mean to question your intentions or anything. I just thought that since you’re generally arguing that Sem is pure, some people would have come out and agreed with your opinion. Although on the other hand no one has come out to agree with me either; in general it’s just the two of us arguing our points which is a lot different to what I thought would happened when I posted my original view.

In response to your second paragraph, I think that it’s important to remember that there’s a difference between conflict and violence. The Red used to be about bettering yourself through conflict, which includes arguing like we’re doing right now. Back before the Red was the Way of Evil, it’s likely that if you chose to argue or fight against Clay you would gain Red score and lose Red score if you chose not to. Now however the Red is focused on selfishness and hatred. I don’t know where I was going with this, to be honest but felt that it was worth saying. Also I can’t really agree with you on what you said about the Jun prank. When it’s “all in good fun” it seems more like you just don’t want to do anything TOO bad to him and it’s more about reigning in Sem than just having fun. The whole pranking thing only comes up if you’re not getting along with them and I feel like the reason why it comes up is a little bit more important than the lengths that you go.

While there definitely is a gray area, I’m pretty sure that what you said about Rhean’s aspect isn’t entirely correct. While Ra’vien is about punishing I don’t think that it about receiving punishment to make yourself stronger as much as it is giving punishment out to those who deserve it. I know that Clay’s interpretation may make it seem like that but I’m not sure if that’s correct. This is just based on the Way Walker website so I’m not sure how accurate it is.

Generally, when I talked about selfishness I was trying to say that his reasons for doing this aren’t entirely uncorrupted. I think that it’s similar to Jun’s past self (which I’ll get to later) in that although his intentions are ‘pure’, it’d be easy for him to fall to the Red. It’s true that all of his options have a degree of selfishness in them, but I think that the one that he’s is more likely to turn him Red. That’s not to say that the whole reason for him falling to the Red would be because of selfishness, but I believe that it would likely be a considerable factor.

Now, Jun’s past self. This is a topic that I’ve thought about a lot as that whole section seems to be foreshadowing what could happen to Sem. Honestly, I feel like the flashback to the library and the scene where you talk to Sem in the restricted area have a lot of similarities. Although Semryu doesn’t lash out like Jun’s past self if you choose not to help and are enemies with him, it does say that he is “equally disappointed and disgusted with you,” so I think that it’s safe to assume that he thinks you’re being at least a little bit selfish. I also wanted to say that your statement “he believed he was doing the right thing and despite that people still turned their backs on him,” could also be applied to Semryu.

Actually, most of what you said about Jun’s past self can be applied to Semryu. For example, how he’s “closed minded about the whole thing because he wouldn’t look at it from the other’s points of views.” I think that statement is equally relevant to Semryu. If you look at what he says to you if you don’t believe that Illyan is innocent, near the end of WWU1 (just after the explosions), he says that the fact that her ideas on vibrational waves could be used to un-make High Mages is “a hell of a long shot.” He also has a similar response if you point this out when you find the research and it’s kind of similar to how he resists you when he freaks out.

As for the differences between the reasons behind how Jun’s Past Self acted and how Semryu is acting, I tend to look at the base causes behind both of their actions. The Past Self wanted to protect people who he felt were being unfairly treated, in my opinion the reasons what his sister said doesn’t particularly factor into it. When I look at him, I only see his “ego” as a small part of why he’s doing it, the real reason for his actions is partly because nobody else will. He’s forbidden to go and try to learn about them and from the lack of information about the Annarites it seems as though nobody else has gone there either. To me it’s not a matter of “he’s the only one who can” and more of “he’s the only one that will try,” which is similar to Semryu.

Just for reference, I’ve never been part of a debate team. Public speaking is terrifying.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been distracted with assignments and trying to catch them all.

Also @WayWalkerLeigh I was working on a list of bugs and typos in WWU2, is that worth finishing or should I just leave it?
