@greygrey Fast? Or just too soon? (One is good, the other is not!) But now that you mention it . . . It’s something I’ve never asked before but, just out of curiosity, how long does it actually take you guys for a “proper” playthru of, say, just Chapter One, on average? (And by that I mean reading, not scan-click-scan-click!)

The public Demo on the dropbox link will not be progressing much past the end of Chapter One. The Playtest will continue to the end (more or less), but at this very moment in time Chapter Two is not online anywhere–revising it right now to take into account all the changes in Chapter One.

Are all these things about the fire and Fat Eddie in chapter 1 then? I certainly don’t recall any of it…
@CJW Nope, Chapter Two for those scenes. It was on the Demo link until just very recently, but that’s now been overwritten with the new Demo, to include the whole Hellions opening sequence and the later revenge-on-O’Hara section, and the new “Reflections” / Demo statistics ending.
Won’t be too long before the revised Chapter Two is in playtest though. It doesn’t need too many changes / new additions, just some essential tweaks and one or two extra scenes.
Sweet! Looking forward to it, the save system is in public place now, right? Will my save work to jump me know to chapter 2?
it isn’t that it was short per say,I believe the reason i found it short is that I played the game before (when you could go on for a few ‘‘weeks’’ ). As a chapter it is big enough but it really makes you wish there was more to play (of the game that is,not of the chapter necesarly )
@CJW Yep, that was the essential purpose of the “hard save” system; to overcome the annoying “*sigh* here we go again from the beginning…” every time there’s a new update. Not a major problem for the first chapter or so, but becoming increasingly annoying as the game progresses. This way you’ll be able to resume from (e.g.) the “Reflections” checkpoint save, near the very end of Chapter One, as soon as Chapter Two has been uploaded, and so on for each subsequent Chapter.
@greygrey Ah, I understand. That’s “too short / fast” in a good way then.
No worries, we’ll soon have those “missing” weeks back, and then more.
well,till then i managed to get a virus and need to reinstall my windows so i will be busy those days (and annoyed ). I hate reinstalling the windows :((

@Anansi Heh, true enough, though I think that’s supposed to apply more to something you’ve actually had in the first place, rather than vague promises of something you might have “one day”… There is finally a faint glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel though!

@Reaperoa Heh, yep, I guess you could say that. So much hinged on the “hard save” system working as intended, so the playtest could resume unhindered by the need to restart from the beginning each time (or fudging some intricate system to try to duplicate a quick-jump up to 30+ “weeks” into the game, itself then requiring constant adjustment for each new section… all of which quite honestly didn’t bear thinking about!).
It was the last serious hurdle to overcome, as there’s just too much possible variety in the game to not be completely and thoroughly playtested . . . That mammoth task has now been made easy-peasy, and it sure is a weight lifted.

@WiReDcHiMpAnZeE The ChoiceScriptDev Wiki isn’t actually “official” in any way, it’s entirely the work of volunteers from the community here (although CoG have generously not demanded that we take it down, either, so I take that as tacit approval). Anyone is perfectly welcome to add (and when desired, update) a WIP page for their own game. Indeed, the more the merrier!
