Okay, so I’m like 90% sure this code works properly, but an issue has been reported to me more than once, so my paranoia won out.
To explain the issue, I need to first explain how my WIP works. In the story, if you, the MC, die, you are sent back in time to try a specific point again. This means I’ve wrote several variations of several scenes depending on what the player can learn from a previous life.
The issue in question, is that on a specific carraige, (this rewind section takes place on a train) there is a girl cowering in fear, and the player must choose to help or leave her. Some players told me that in specific circumstances, she would not show up at all. I have been unable to reproduce this with my own testing, but again, too many people have reported it for it to be coincidence.
Also, I use acronyms for variables, so here are the relevant variables.

She looks at you in terror as you approach, and shrinks away from you. Metaphorically of course, her back is against the wall. You look past her at the window, and see your reflection. Your face is covered in blood. Guess coming back to life doesn't come with free face cleaning.

Satisfied you've calmed her down, you begin to think as to what to do now.
"Kage." You say, having thought of a plan. "Is there anywhere on the train, preferably in the non-reserved carriages, where a…" You pause as you attempt to gain an idea of how tall Kokona is, "four and a half foot-ish girl could hide?"
"Damn, she's small." Kage states.
"Kage, this is serious. I need a hiding spot for Karimoto-chan." You chastise them, hoping they get the memo.
"Alright, alright." They say, as you hear quick typing noises coming from your earpiece. "Well, who would've guessed? Hey, Onryō-san, remember where I left your weapon?"

Kokona climbs into the vent where Kage had left your weapon, and she gives a quiet murmur of confirmation when you ask her if she's okay.
You are about to place the vent cover over her, when she reaches out and grabs your hand. You feel her place something soft in your hand, before she pulls away and scampers back into the vent. Looking at your hand, you see that she had placed a small plushy of a fox in your hand.
"Koka-chan." She says quietly, "He'll keep you safe."
