Okay I’ve altered it so if you haven’t romanced anyone you will still get Lakota but it shouldn’t act like you’re romancing him. and he’ll be a friend instead.

Thanks

Please let me know if anything else pops up. It shouldn’t. Also it made me add a unique item you only get for not being in a romance at that point.

Not entirely sure if this is a bug, or you just haven’t finished it yet, but when you are trying to recruit the team it doesn’t work.

Anything after the kitsune/banshee case will be buggy as that’s as far as I’ve gotten so far.

I can’t decide whether to let player find and recruit their former teammates or just have Denzil do it for them.

Thoughts?

Maybe you could have him recruit some, but not everybody wants to join so you go and try to comvince them

That could work quite nicely. Who joins immediately depends on earlier choices then players get the option at trying to personally recruit them.

Thanks for the suggestion.

It might be a cool idea for us to go track them down especially if you could work it as a way to increase relationship scores with the people we go to personally. If we didn’t want to increase the score we could have Denzil do it

It might be cool to have them find all but 1 or 2 and make it one of your first missons to track down and talk those few out of hideing. This can be a good way to get the mc back into the feel of working again.

Here is what I’m now planning in the recruit ppl phase.

Your LI automatically joins.

Denzil then attempts to recruit your teammates and will succeed with above 40 rep.(should be friend to good friend level)

Anyone below that will refuse and the player can choose to try and recruit them.

Currently looking into revising the management aspect of Silver Cross Inc

Currently you have funds (which you earn through cases) which you can choose to invest in several areas (Security, Facility, Research, Technology and Weapons) with the more money you put into them the better they are. Funds would also be used to repay any damages that occur doing your cases.

What I’m thinking of doing instead is replacing the whole above system with a more simpler streamlined of allowing the player choose one thing to invest in each episode (from episode 2 onwards) and combining a few of the areas (now Facility includes [security], Research and Technology includes [weapons]) My thinking behind the change would be the management aspect might bore some players.

Thoughts please?

I think facility managment is pretty great if done well. Can lead to many playthroughs for different outcomes. I suggest maybe a third option so players have more to mix and match. Like the intellect, strength and agility stats in rpgs. If it was just strength and agility you can just pick one or another or go halves. Where if three. You need to think, use your resources wisely. Lastly i think what you add/fund should effect certain members moral. The smartys folk would love you more if you fund research and tech and vice versa with security

Thats true. I consider having it so the player can choose to take control of the funds or leave it in someone’s hands (like how @Havenstone did for his game)

That is a smart option. @JimD did something similar with safe haven. Having the option to not be the leader and it works well.

I think your current formula is already pretty great. Although it would be a lot simpler to streamline it to where you’d only have to pick from 3 choices. Then only giving two funding points/ enough funds to level up 2 departments every chapter and then when it comes to fighting the big bad at the end making it to where we can only level up one last department before then for whatever reason. That way were unable to fully upgrade everything in one play through.

I think that I would prefer something between the two options.
I like the simplicity of opinion two, but I also like (if done the way I think it would be done) that I get more money to spend when I perform cases without causing damages that need to be paid.
Also, would there be cases for rich people so that, if done well, we could build our income through donations/investors/backers. Kinda like the guy from Incredibles 2, minus the evil sister.

Ohhh i like how that investions idea sounds,
Increasing by bit all of the facilites, also maybe some cases have ā€œinterested partiesā€ as bonus objective
