When thinking of the vampires in this, I had already decided that they would be the brutal tear your throat out vampires. I just couldnât decide on the âdefense mechanismâ i wanted them to have in the end I narrowed it down to two choices
- Vampires turned to stone when the sun was up. This resulted in them being indestructible during daylight.
or
- Vampires still sleeped in coffins but while they slept the subconciously reach out with their supernatural auras, which affects mortal minds. The result varies from them seeing a loved one in the coffin to seeing the coffin empty.
As you already know I went with option 1 in the end (although I still like option 2 and intend to use that for another game).
The 2 one might be the worsest defence.Oh look a empty coffin *stabs where the heart should be and POOF ashes*
Whether you see an empty coffin or not depends on the person affected. Some people might even see the coffin and vampire when it is an innocent in bed.
Option 2 relies on the fact that vampires can bewitch. bespell and otherwise affect your mind (they can do something similar in Unnatural but not to this kind of degree)
