UnNatural - A supernatural horror game - editing complete, beta testing over

@Shoelip

There is a little scene if you do case b after case a you are told about jack/denise and any captured werewolf/lycanthrope its not much but it gives a summary. It’s one my to do list for my big update.

@Nocturnal_Stillness
So long as you don’t constantly force the player to hold the idiot ball and put us through an inescapable humiliation conga, I’m sure you’ll do fine.
While Heroes Rise is quite well written and possesses an intriguing setting, it ultimately doesn’t allow for many options, the author clearly intended for there to be only one viable path through it that, unfortunately, requires you to play the idiot, lovesick hero. You can’t do much else and if you do try (with the Li character for example) your choices are either ultimately disrespected, or you’re simply not given any choice in the matter at all.

@idonotlikeusernames

That’s one of the reasons I’m going back to improve it. Currently you have more choice than HR but still some choices still tend to lead to same result.

Going to rework the game complete episode 2 and 3 then get some testers to give opinions on the choices.

@Nocturnal_Stillness It’s ok if some choices lead to the same result, and if forks in the path eventually lead back to the main path. The problem with Heroes Rise is that there are no forks at all, just pretend forks. Your decisions, when you get to make any, are purely cosmetic. You can change virtually every decision you make in the game and nothing significant regarding the story will change. You may get a sentence here or there that is different, but the results are always the same, more humiliation for your character, regardless of the decisions you make. And all too often you don’t even get the courtesy of being offered a fake choice before your character is forced to do something bone-headed.

Hm. Maybe I missed it. I didn’t notice any mention of the wolves after the mission ended. Guess I’ll have to play through a few more times.

What determines whether or not the woman is alive?

Yeah Tigras, I agree. On the first play through it wasnt so bad, but after that you realized just how little you actually had an effect on.

@Shoelip

It’s not straight after the mission you have to do case b and after that you find out about the wolves.

Spoilers

Whether the woman is dead/alive depends on the order you do the cases

Do A first she’ll be alive otherwise she dies.

Where’s the latest link?
I forgot to keep up with this.

@Zed I’ll post another link once I’ve done the big update.

Hm. I’m finding the woman dead even if I pick A first.

I also noticed that when you pick mission B it says that there were five weird deaths, but there are seven victims to ask about.

Strange I’ll look into the code of that scene

Playing through Case B, captured the gargoyle alive, but then on the same page it says that alpha takes the “dead gargoyle” away. I spotted the mention of the wolves and Denise though, so that at least is working as intended.

I also finally saw the third part of the dream. Weird!

Strange I’ll look into the code of that scene

Found one new bug I didn’t notice before. In case A when you get the choice between saying “We execute murderers here.” and “Maybe you’re right.” choosing the latter results in this:

line 1768: increasing indent not allowed, expected 21 was 36

I found a bug where you try to flee from your bully and I got this line278:invalid ${} variable substitution at the letter 40

@Shoelip

I’ll fix that tonight.

Was the third dream good weird or bad weird

It was confusing weird. I don’t know if it was good or bad to be honest. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nocturnal I think that last dream was weird and bad at the same time(Mostly bad becouse you are in a base for monster hunters)

@Shoelip @Zach

I know what is going on and in my head it makes sense I’ll just need to make sure it makes sense to the player too. Only time will tell if I’m successful or not.

Well it does make some sense if you meet the fae(What ever his name is) and he tells you that you not human
